Sink - single basin w/ offset drain in ss
Comments (3)You probably know then that there are many sinks with your requirements except that the offset drain is rear center, not rear side (Franke and Blanco make them). An offset drain that is rear center will still give you open cabinet space underneath the sink. However, if you absolutely want the drain to be rear side, and can't find exactly what you want in a stainless steel sink, you can do what I did which is to buy a custom made sink exactly to my specifications. You may find a local fabricator. If not, I used Hancrafted Metal in Texas, and am extremely happy with my sink. I have a 27" wide rectangular sink, 9" deep, with offset drain rear right. And Handcrafted Metal uses 14 gauge stainless steel. Here is a link that might be useful: Handcrafted Metal Website...See MoreKitchen Sink Advice - Stainless Steel, Single-Bowl
Comments (10)I have a stainless single-basin Vigo undermount that measures 32" wide by 19" deep...that will hopefully be installed today (by me). This style of sink doesn't have an island or an insert for the faucet to be mounted, so a 22" deep sink wouldn't work for "standard" installations -- our faucet needs about 3" of clearance behind it for the handle to operate fully. So, from the front of the counter, we have: 2 inches of counter lip (on the skinny side) 19 inches of sink 1 inch (approx.) between sink and faucet hole 2 inches (approx) for faucet body 3 inches (approx) rear clearance for faucet handle We had to make the counters 27" deep to accommodate -- adding another 3 inches of sink would make a 30" deep counter, which wasn't an option in our space....See MoreSuggestions for a drop-in, single basin, SS sink for 36" base cab?
Comments (1)Oh, there are so many cool sinks out there now. It makes it difficult, doesn't it? I love buying things made in America because it keeps Americans working. However, if something is made elsewhere and suits my needs, and I can't find something American made that does, I would still buy it. I think the key is reading reviews. I bought Kraus sinks for my remodel (not yet installed but they are lovely; I've actually petted them). Kraus are made in China but I read reviews on numerous websites, including here, and all but just a teensy few reviews were resoundingly positive. I doubt they're all getting radiation sickness and just don't know it, lol. I'm guessing you haven't had much response only because so many people do undermount it's possible nobody here has personal experience with that sink. You may have to search for reviews elsewhere. Sorry I'm not much help. It is a very attractive sink....See MoreBig Single Basin Stainless American Sinks
Comments (6)A lot of ELKAY sinks are made in the US. Here's the pdf of the models that are made in the US http://www.elkay.com/wcsstore/lkcontent/marketing/buy-american/buy-american-act-letter-sinks-01-01-14.pdf I have an Elkay that's 25" wide with a side drain and love it so far (fit into a 30" cabinet). Has the magnetic dock too which is handy....See Moresuzanne_sl
