So many great ideas. I do love that 3rd pic of Boxer's. It's pretty icy which I thought I didn't want but it kind of sparkles but without beings crazy busy. I was looking at safer taupes with a mix of cool and warm but my cabs are oozing with warmth so an icy cool bossy backsplash might suit my space. DH did an about face this afternoon. He admitted he didn't care for the peach, which I don't either, and said if i added more of the replacement glass and even a darker glass (my plan) it would be ok. I said ARE YOU CRAZY? No way I'm doing this now. I don't want to 'get my way' knowing he hates it. Told him I'm not being stubborn but as much as I wish he didn't care about any of it I can't do something he doesn't care for at all. Please don't tell him this but after more consideration maybe he's right... maybe, just maybe I would tire of the F&I faster than other choices. I don't know I question everything now even more than before. If I tire of the F&I years from now I could never admit it; I'd have to bite my tongue! Like I said, don't tell him any of this ;) Poohpup your DH might be an even trickier situation if you're not certain what he will potentially loathe! Mine did take some pics at a big box today that we're lovely but more tumbled travertine and slate type. I like all those just maybe not for this space. Fouramblues I looked at the pic you just posted. I really like that as well. I'm starting to feel a little better overall. So now I have some homework to do tonight. I'm going to find the silvery stuff and look at morepics as well as that line of Ann Sacks and the Complete Tile and any others mentioned here. Sonoma Tile has some beautiful choices as well and the fact theyre made within about an hour from here is a pretty cool thought. I've got homework to do while DH watches Sunday night shows I hate. Last week, I called two of my local tile stores that carry Jeffrey Court and asked about the 1 5/8" square Raindrops II Copper Canyon tiles. They were not aware of the new size, and even checked with Jeffrey Court and their rep. No luck. Since my backsplash will be installed this week, I decided to order the Root Beer tile from Modern Tile Studio last Friday. Unfortunately, the shipment that they received last week had mostly broken sheets and had to reorder. They were not exactly sure when they would get the new shipment, but said that they would sort through the the shipment to see if they could piece together the tile that I need. Later that afternoon, I got an email that they could only assemble a little more than 2 sheets and they were sending them to me for only the cost of shipping! Talk about great customer service. Hello Everyone--I've been following all of the forums on Fire and Ice..I am also looking for the replacement tiles. I see that someone ordered from Mosaic and Glass Tiles and said the products were the same. I had a different experience--just got them in this week and mine are definitely different. I ordered the Illusion Brown Tiles from Glass Tiles Oasis and they are not as dark as the "burnt umber" tiles that Jodi used. I also ordered the Root Beer tiles from Modern Tile Studio and they are DEFINITELY lighter than the Illusion Brown Tiles from Glass Tiles--so basically neither are as dark as I need them to be. I have black granite countertops, cherry cabinets, and stainless steel appliances. I thought about incorporating some black tiles, along with the "root beer" tiles, to incorporate a little more of the darker colors. I ordered the Gilden Treasure small squares from Modern Tile and they are actually really nice. They have a black silverish look to them that will go nice with the stainless appliances. YOu can use 4 little squares to make one 1 5/8 square. I also found the 1 5/8 size black tiles at cooltiles.com (Diamond Tech Glass Tiles - Vista - 1 5/8" x 1 5/8" Square Glass Tile in Cocoon - ( DT-66690)--they aren't a solid black..kind of iridescant, but again with stainless steel appliances they might look alright. Has anyone else incorporating the black squares in to the Fire and Ice?

Hi poorowner, My grout is unsanded Laticrete in Kashmir. I had a hard time deciding between the Kashmir and the Almond. The Kashmir is darker, and became even a little darker when it was enhanced. It looks very nice with the tile, but I think the Almond probably would have looked nice, too. I used a tannish grout because I wanted to bring out the tan colors in the tile. You will also need caulk in whatever color you choose. My bottle of enhancer says 511 Seal & Enhance, and I don't know if the HD product is the same. Maybe you could call Miracle Sealants and ask. The tech assistance # is 626-443-6433. I got my enhancer at the tile store. I think it cost about $20 for a quart, and I needed two quarts to cover about 80 sq. ft. of tile. I had such a tough time deciding whether to leave the tile natural or enhance it. I love the colors that the enhancing brought out, but I wonder whether, given my dark cabs, making the tile darker was a bad idea. Oh well, it's done now! I mention this because you also have dark cabs and are probably thinking about the balance of light and dark. We did remove the mesh from the tile because it showed behind the glass. My installer did his own random pattern. Good luck with your project, and please post pictures when you are finished.
