More expensive Pebble Sheen better than Pebble Tec?

I have searched the interent and seem to get mixed messages about Pebble Sheen versus Pebble Tec. I understand Pebble Sheen is smoother but is it smooth enough to spend an extra $2000 over the price of Pebble Tec? Any advice? Thx.

I think only you can answer that. Try to go to actual pools that have each installed and see how it feels to you.

I didn't think I would like the bigger pebbles of the PT but once I tried out pools with it, I prefered it over PS.

I've now discovered it is unusual, but my PB was the same price for PTec or PSheen base colors.

If it is in good condition it can be polished to smooth it out. This can often be done under water without draining, but usually more expensive. A whole lot cheaper then a redo. Fina doesn't last as long as a PT, or PS. Still just a plaster product with aggregate.

We have Tropical Breeze PebbleTec, which also comes with shells. I debated on adding more to ours but decided against it after the PB suggested not to. Personally, I think the level it comes with is just right. It gives a lovely subtle shimmer without being overly-noticeable.

We spoke with several builders and they were both the same price. The difference in price was between colors, not the tec or the sheen. Anyway, that's just what we found.

Maybe not in every market, but the company (Pebble technology), lowered the sheen price to match base pebble tec. We have been using it to bring in clients.
