You may know from some of my posts that I puppy sit for our youngest daughter's two dogs quite often. The one Jack Russell is on a lot of medication for epilepsy, that is the reason for the puppy sitting. When he comes to our house it is not unusual in an hours time for him to piddle 3 times on the floor and they are big lakes. Last week I picked up a doggie shirt for each of our dogs. The next time the dogs came, they wore theirs. I was busy working on Easter stuff and left them on. They were gone for probably 3 hours, no piddling! The next day he wore it and no piddling. Since that time when he comes he wears that shirt and is being a really good boy. The shirt is a bit snug, but not uncomfortable and not covering any parts that would hinder him from going. So I think for whatever the reason we have the "lake" problem taken care of!

Since that time, they have marked the doggie shirts down even cheaper and our oldest daughter has bought more shirts and gave them to her sister for her dog! Oh, happy day.

Anyone ever heard of such a thing?

Can't say why,but my little Lacey whenever she had the winter "coat" on,she wouldnt poop...she would go to the nearest apple tree and scrub until it came off..then she could go.

Not exactly, but when we had a collie-shepherd that experienced extreme anxiety during t-storms, we were advised to "swaddle" her in a t-shirt. It's supposed to help in two ways: reducing static electricity and comforting the dog. Maybe your Jack Russell feels secure in his shirt....?

Those are lovely lilies which I've never grown but always wanted. Usually, plant species which grow in the wild are more resistant to the weather and lack of care than garden cultivars - they are used to coping all by themselves. If you click on the Wikipedia link, there is snow in the photo at the time when the lily is in bloom, even though there is no snow covering the plant itself. They must be tougher than we suspect. As in the case of tulips (which I confirmed in my own garden) they will probably thrive if their natural habitat is replicated as closely as possible. No, it is not hard to believe. Not made anymore, diminishing availability--people start start salivating, actually, some start panicing. I have four 10550s, two in service and two in the box mint in my basement. I watched the escalading prices and demand for two cycle lawnboys with great interest. The dealer where I bought my last 10550 said he could kick himself for nor stocking up big time when he had the chance. He said he wished he had taken out a loan to buy thousands. He remonstrates against himself every day for not having more foresight. According to him he gets calls constantly from people looking excluisively for two cycle lawnboys. The fact is there are a lot of people who know of these machines and want them. They have been generally available, but now are drying up as this summer passes. So, consumers are just now really becoming aware that the day of two cycle lawnboy productions is over. I bought two extra to cover my mowing needs in the future, however, I am now rethinking. I think next summer the 10550 will easily fetch double the current retail and possibly triple. I live in Loudoun county, Virginia. The fastest growing in the nation and certainly one of the richest. I am not trying to impress anybody, believe me,I was a career government worker so you know I am not at the top of the heap. The facts are though, there are many, many, many people (not ZILLIONS, but you know what I mean)that will pay 800 dollars or more for a 500 dollar lawnmower and think nothing of it if it is what they want. I am seriously considering picking up a few more 10550s (or as many as I can) for future resale before the retail market finally expires. I don't think anyone who does likewise will lose money.

I've never had venison. I would like to try it once, but I have to agree with not being comfortable with those who hunt just for sport. Even so, we have a whitetail overpopulation problem here, so the herd is not healthy and the woods won't be either if it continues. In that case, I think they should let the hunters thin the herd and give the meat to the food banks (if the clients will eat it, that is). I had never had lamb or mutton until I was an adult. We had mutton on the Navajo reservation and liked it. Lamb korma is one of my favorite dishes now. It took me awhile to like sheep's or goat's milk cheese -- some I still don't like. And I haven't yet found a taste for goat -- that smells and tastes nasty to me.

I don't know if he feels secure, but I sure feel better when he wears it, ha, ha. It doesn't restrict him he still trots around like always. It is a size medium and is sleeveless, like a tank top a guy might wear, but not covering the under parts if you know what I mean. That is funny Ont Gal! So far we haven't had that problem! We have noticed if there is a change in the weather and sometimes my daughter will get a slight headache, Harley will probably have a seizure. Of course he has seizures at times when she doesn't have a headache. Thanks for replying.

Yes, but make sure that its not on all the time so that it can go outside and do its business.

Our male Jack Russell we bought this coat for him when its really cold and wet in the winter and we take him out. He hates wearing it and hardly moves in it and also doesn't like to do his business in it. He can as you say nothing is in the way.

But make sure you take him outside without the shirt on and your daughter too as you don't want to end up with problems that he won't go at all.

But that is quite the solution to not having it go in your house. Neat!

Maybe the T-shirt makes him feel more secure, or maybe it helps keep his kidney area warmer? Whatever the reason, I'm glad it seems to comfort him and makes your day easier, too.

Harry has an insulated vest he wears during duck season and sometimes just out on a prairie run when it's cold.

He's so deep chested, and so small waisted, I had to modifiy it. I also had to modify the "undercarriage" by cutting away the center section to try to keep it dry.

It has to be washed every time he wears it. There's just no getting around it, wearing a vest doesn't change Harry's habits at all.

I remember the post about the tee shirts helping dogs cope with storms. It did seem to help my parents dog after I told them what I read on the KT. I'm curious if he had the piddle problem at your DD's house. It seems the tee shirt relaxes the dogs. Maybe he's a little nervous when visiting? This is weird-but a wonderful solution!!!

Oh, yes, Harley gets to go out often without his shirt on. Only at times does he piddle at his house. We know he can hold it as when we go shopping he has no problems in the vehicle or any problems over night. We will be telling the vet about his shirt when we go to see her sometime again before long.
