Do you have a KA 6 qt mixer? Xpost
Comments (1)I have the 610 from WS. It is loud. The pitch is a bit lower than the previous Artisan I had, but I make pizza dough every week on setting 2 for approx 10 minutes and it is loud enough to be annoying. Whipping egg whites on speed 10 is not louder, just different pitch, but still annoying. Works great though and much more robust than the Artisan model....See MoreIf you have a KA stand mixer, do you need a hand mixer?
Comments (6)I use the hand mixer more than I use the stand mixer, except that I keep the cheese grating attachment on the stand mixer, and that gets used almost every day. I also have the meat grinder and ice cream maker attachments, but those do not get used as much. My immersion blender (also KA) has a whisk attachment, and that is great for whipping small amounts of cream, but can get messy if not careful. I mix pancake batter by hand - I never thought of using a mixer for that. Lars...See Morewhat would you do if your stand mixer broke?
Comments (43)Bobby if you still have the KA classic you were talking about, keep it! Maybe someday you will run across some one that can repair it. Or if it were me I would at least keep the attachments. I had an old (Hobart made) KA that I gave to my niece in South Carolina several years ago. I told her to bring it back on her next trip home. I have a 6 quart pro sitting in my garage colecting dust I will give her in exchange. KA has a great return/repair policy. 9 times out of 10 if someone sends a mixer back for repair it is completly replaced with another mixer. For the person asking about the Hobart N-50 mixer. KA does NOT make them anymore. Kitchen Aid has not made Hobart mixers since the mid 80's. Thats when Dart Kraft bought the KA division from Hobart. Later to be bought out by Whirlpool. Whirlpool now also owns JenAir, and Maytag in addition to KA....See MoreWhat kind of window coverings do you have in your bathroom?
Comments (6)That's a good question. I guess I need to go over to the neighbor's house and look into my bathroom window from their upstairs hall window. (We live in a close-in, first subrurb of NYC, so houses are close together here.) I should also mention that the bathroom has white subway tile and a marble basketweave floor -- I am trying to achieve a 1920s style....See Moresusie53_gw
