Need contact with Dances andCherryfizz,

Hi everyone,

My cousin died in Windsor the other day, the funeral is tomorrow morning and I'm to leave here in the early morning riding with my cousin.

We're not coming back till Thursday so I'm hoping that I may be able to get in contact with Dances and cherryfizz while there.

If you have seen one of their posts lately, please tell me where it is, as I want to send them a message to get addresses and phone (I have them here ... somewhere) and find out what plans they have in the next couple of days.

I found a posting from Dances and just sent a message to her.

I see that cherryfizz has posted one, about taking keys to bed, so guess that I can contact her through that.

I hope that we can get together.

Will need to have someone tell me, " ... where to go", I guess.

I'm riding with my cousin, so will be a bit mobility disadvantaged.

Geoff- not wishing to be a bearer of bad tidings, but your giraffe x double white, posted elsewhere, looks virused too. You need to search for virus on this forum and stay unemotional. Maria and Del will recommend you "burn em", others will say it can be lived with. It is a frustrating situation. Those who "burn em" either have large collections including rare species or live in the south and worry about spreading the virus. Those of us in the north worry mainly about our own presumably virus free hippeastrum. I have ditched heavily virused plants and don't necessarily burn them, I "freeze em" sometimes, and send them to the dump, I'm not so worried in zone 4. Other individuals, such as Pax and Arif, grow with the virus and just accept it. You have seen the beautiful flowers Arif grows. It is a difficult situation either way, many people get very emotional over it. I think you do need to figure out how you will handle it , since it is so obvious that your lovely and nearly blooming plants have this nasty virus. I wish you the best of luck. Also, take note you can take seeds and apparently grow them virus free.

Tam, Beautiful place!! I'm very envious. Are you sure we are not related? LOL You sound like long lost sister. Your critters.. How do you get them? I have gotten a number of critters, over the past 13 yrs, most were just dumped on my front porch. Wild and not.. Opossums, squires, various wild birds, dogs, cats, guinea pigs, the "tame" critters were usually "rescue". someone couldn't care for them properly and I ended up with them. Someone even abandoned FISH! on my front porch once!! They left the poor fish in a trash can filled with water. The critters I got that were wild were usually babies that ppl got cause the parent was accidentally killed. I'd raise them with as little contact as I could till they were old enough to release in the wild.. way far away from my home. My current critters are.. 2 conure birds given to me for $50 each (worth about $200 each) One of my dogs is a rescue dog.. Chihuahua (now10yrs old). very sweet dog was not being taken care of.. the other dog I have is his daughter. she is the sweetest. she is half jack russle. we found a new home for the mother. when I get a new "rescue" critters I try to "rehab" it and find a suitable home for it or return to the wild. If I had a place in the country like yours I'm sure I'd have more than the 13 critters +??# of fish. 2 birds, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 2 guinea pigs, 5 hermit crabs, 1 hackney horse/pony. Got the horse for $50 cause the person couldn't care for her. She is out at my parents place now. Trying to find her a new good home. it is truly a shame ppl get pets and don't care for them. Nosing around a bit, I found this site that sells custom knit argyle socks to match your tartan. Oof. 65 pounds - I can see why you would want to knit your own. But then they discuss how they come up with a pattern to match any tartan, and you can see why it is so pricey. (and hard to replicate on your own) http://www.kilkeelknitwear.com/new_page_26.htm But, I know a lot of dancers wear bright tartans that are only one or two colors to compete in rather than their family tartans. If that is what you are looking for, you could probably modify most any argyle pattern you like to the length and circumfrence you would need for dancing. (My grandmother competed in Scottish dancing - none of the rest of us has any grace for it - but her tiny tiny ankles and strong calves would have definitely required sock shaping beyond a basic tube and beyond my knitting abilities) I also found this site. OK, I talked to my W and realize that i had jumped to a few conclusions. She apoligized for going last night and said that she actually met a friend of her moms and went with her. In my wifes past relationships she has been controlled by her boyfriend and this is her 1st relationship where she is being treated fairly and she is afraid that it will change. Therefore she has a hard time with the idea of me telling her not to go out when she feels she has done nothing wrong. She has told me "If clubs were a place only for singles to pick people up, why would that concern me." What she meant by this is that she has no interest in anyone else and that I should trust her in a situation even like that. She repeates that she has no interest in anyone else. She keeps trying to get me to say that I don't trust her. I explain that it is not an issue with her but me. I dont feel confident enough in filling her needs and that the people at the clubs are exactly what I am not. Therefore they would provide something totally different than me. She reiterates that she is not interested in anyone else and is just going to have fun with FRIENDS. On a side note, she brought up a comparison to an incident that happened a few years ago. I used to partake in a recreational drug that my friends often did. Know my wife has a history of abusing a different type of drug. This is why she was bothered by me doing this and she has said that it made her very upset when I would come home under the influence. She relates this to the current situation of me being hurt by her going out and her actions. What she didn't catch and I brought it to her attention is that I quit partaking with my friends. Even though I don't think their is anything wrong with what my friends are doing. So what I am getting at is that I quit doing the behavior that threatened her but when put on her she says that she isn't doing anything wrong and instead we are going to counseling. My W has told me again that every time she goes out except last night, her mother has been with her. She told me that she has been talking to her mother about this situation all along. So I told my W that I would like to talk to her mother also(simply because I have not talked face to face with anyone about this). And I know her mother will be honest because she adores me and has joked that she likes me more than her daughter (we have similar personalities). So I think talking to her will help by getting a 3rd perspective and she knows both of us and is with my W when she goes out. Counseling is still Monday, wish it was sooner.

I found that a message sent to myself arrived in under three minutes, so assume that theirs did, as well.

I'd better tak my sleeping bag, I think - who knows where I'll be sleeping.

Anyhow, let me know if you have trouble finding a place to stay, I wouldn't want you roaming the streets in your pajama's ;). Where is your cousin staying?

Thank you everyone for your help.

We were busy with the funeral and after-gatheriungs for the whole day, with lunch together at a golf club, then gathered at cousin's number One Son's house for the afternoon, followed by about 30 of us to a Chinese restaurant for supper, then back to Bill's sister's where the cousin who drove down had planned to stay - they were born on two successive days, over 80 years ago, 22 hours apart, so have been special friends over the years. I didn't need to use my sleeping bag, after all ... but it's a good idea to attend a gathering, prepared.

I might have known that it would be difficult to connect with Anne and Dances, for a couple of years ago when we gathered at Dances, I'd planned to at least call my relatives ... but we were busy all day, and I didn't.

In addition, this time I didn't have wheels.

I apologize to Anne and Dances for raising a fuss ...

... over what ended up being nothing.

I hope to visit before long, to spend some time with Bill's widow, so perhaps we can get together then.

I'm frustrated tonight - the computer is shutting down from time to time ... unannounced. So I've lost some writing - got a virus the other day the AVG didn't clean out.

Grr-r-r!
