Can we talk toilet paper holders?
Comments (68)We have 2 "Latitude" open ended holders from Gatco in the upstairs bathrooms. Each is held by two screws. They're rock solid. Love the minimal look too. But this time around we're looking at something different for the powder room we're remodeling. There are so many to choose from. This one comes in a variety of strong colors: Too 1st apartment? And too much work to switch to a new roll? Bookshelf, plus extra roll: Too rustic for us, but I like the simplicity of this one:...See MoreAnyone have a pet proof toilet paper holder?
Comments (13)Wish I knew! My dog also likes to play with the paper, or punish us for daring to leave the house without him. However, since my dog is a 110lb German Shepherd, there really isn't anything out of his reach if he really wants it, and he has the intellegence/determination of the average 6yr old boy (Probably even more!) The smartest solution would be a closed door, since the one thing he can't get past is the lack of an opposable thumb, but in our home with the 130yr old doors, I don't have a good system to lock them, so the signal the bathroom is in use is a closed door. 5 people vs one German Shepherd - he wins. ;-) However if he ever masters that opposable thumb thing - he's gonna take over the world. Always ;-) Hunzi...See MoreDual toilet paper holders at the toilet
Comments (8)vineyard: We're on about the same timetable as you, depending on--well, everything. The garage was full before we started this venture, although I do reserve enough space for 1 car in it. I have recently resigned myself to being in moving-mode from now till whenever it is. My great room currently has a sink base cabinet DH made. Not boxed up, so I have wrapped Christmas presents stored inside. I can only access them through the cabinet doors, however. Because there's an ottoman, upside down on top of the cabinet. And for now, on top of the ottoman are wood pieces for the new coffee table DH is working on. The wood has to acclimate to indoor humidity levels or something. Are we having fun yet?...See MoreCan one arm toilet paper holder go the other way?
Comments (11)Agree that it allows for movement but it also makes it easier to change rolls How often do you use the roll, vs how often do you change it? and will allow my kids to change it when they use the last of it. If they don't change it, that's the (universal) issue, not the holder. Instead get a pivoting toilet paper holder. Would work fine, if the pivot is solidly/well made...See MoreFun2BHere
