Longer pulls generally look more contemporary/sleek to me, which I prefer. Having said that, your neighbors' pulls are a little too long for me. Mine are somewhere in the middle between your examples. I went with pulls that are about 2/3 the width of each cabinet or drawer.

I agree 100%. Longer pulls are more of a contemporary look, which is what we are looking for.

I guess the question is if it will look good with our cabinet style which a mix of traditional (design) and contemporary (color scheme). .

Sorry, I think those long pulls would be really strange with your cabinets. The cabs are very detailed and delicate in style, while the pulls are anything but. You can mix traditional form and modern color, certainly, but mixing traditional form, modern form, and modern color in the same piece is a little mismatched. You can certainly get much straighter pulls than the ones in the showroom, which would at least nod at contemporary.

Hmmm, I guess I didn't see "contemporary" in your cabinet style. The door style is very traditional and dark wood is not contemporary per se. If you want to use the hardware to make the look more contemporary, there are some cool "transitional" knobs that might work better than long pulls with these cabinets, a least in your uppers and smaller drawer. Something like this, maybe:

You are right, so I guess I should clarify. We like contemporary, but our house is not very contemporary, so we decided on more traditional cabinets, but are going contemporary with quartz counters with 2.25" edges and do not mind going with more contemporary pulls than we are currently designed with.

The question is if it will look out of place, or will "contemporize" the kitchen.

My answer to your last question is that it will look strange. Those cabs don't say "modern pull" to me. They say traditional.

I agree that a more traditional pull is the way to go with your cabinets -- at least something more traditional than the bar pull your neighbor has. But I think you could get something with clean lines that would still work for you.

Our pulls are about 9" wide, and are definitely contemporary, as are our slab front cabinets. But it gives you an idea of how a pull that length would look.

i may be the voice of descent here, but i say go for what you like. my kitchen isn't yet finished, so i haven't really posted pictures, but i LIKE the juxtaposition between traditional and contemporary. i have more traditional cabinets with 6" pulls on cabinets, and 12" pulls on long drawers and the pantry. (of course, i also chose dark floors with dark cabinets, a no no,...so take my opinion for what its worth!)
