Corner cabinet toe kick heat
Comments (3)the air is circulating under the cabinet? If thats the case the cabinet will be nice and toasty warm the kitchen - not so much. I would have put some type of duct work from the whole in the floor to the register - unless that is your cold air return but thats a pretty odd place for one!...See MoreNeed a very small vent register for a toe kick
Comments (4)Running into this same issue here in 2021. Ikea doesn't have the dimension of the toetick on its website but I suppose I could measure it at the store. Do you have the dimension of the toekick on the lager 92 7/8 tall Pax unit?...See Morehelp.Cabinets in today-duct in floor&no duct to toe kick register?
Comments (13)Oh thanks Mike---I'll check into those options. The HVAC PM said they would have to special order the duct and asked for my husband to send him the measurement for the ducts to the toe kicks. The kitchen one is extremely close to the front of the toekick -we'd originally planned for a furring wall on our log wall (so the cabinet was thought to be placed 3 inches further out from the wall when the ducts were put in) -and then later, removed the furring wall so the cabinets will go directly on the logs. The cabinet guys said the duct will work fine--it will just be a small space after the 90 degree to the toe kick register. The cabinet guys are here-they said they could leave the toe kick off so that the duct could be installed later--but I dont know how its going to happen with the cabinet already in place even without the toe kick--we may need to cut out the floor of the cabinet in order to secure the duct...tbd. To make it more complicated-its on unsealed gypcrete--so we cant screw anything into the floor-and will need to seal around it if we want to glue anything to the floor (we've been told its impossible to get things to glue to unsealed gypcrete long term. Oh man. Appreciate your help....See Moreair register under vanity - built in to to toe kick or no?
Comments (7)In a small bathroom the vanity is a great place for storage. The door and draws hide a lot of things. If you do go with the vanity, then the first thing you can do is make the size of the vent cover smaller. It does not have to be that big. It looks like there is no duct installed under the vanity. The air is just coming out from a hole in the wall or floor and into the vanity base. A big hole was cut to fit a big vent. The vent can be half that size for bathroom of this size. You could also install the vent on the side of vanity by the toilet bowl. This hides it when you are entering the bathroom. The air flow might be a little less but it should be fine for a bathroom....See Moresue36
