does anybody regret no water filter in refrigerator?
Comments (31)I think as everyone has pretty much said, it's a personal preference. Having an external water dispenser on our fridge was a "must-have" for us. I have four kids who drink pretty much nothing but water. We have well water and have both filtered water at the sink (but it's not cold cold) as well as through the fridge. I contemplated getting the internal dispenser b/c we don't really need the external ice (actually hate that feature!) but with four kids, didn't want them constantly opening my fridge to get drinking water. My parents used a Brita pitcher at their house but it's just the two of them. They don't drink that much water so it's not a big deal for them. Their drinking water doesn't really need to be filtered but my mom prefers to filter it anyway. I like having the additional filtered water at the sink b/c I use it for filling pots with pasta water and rinsing my fruit/veggies as well. We do have a water conditioning system in the garage as we have well water. We *could* drink from the tap, but I like having the external layer of protection....See MoreOne faucet for filtered water and sink duty?
Comments (2)KWC Purejet has a filter (under the sink) and pullout. We have one. They're nice. They're expensive, but we got ours for a lot less on ebay (a remodeler who changed plans)....See Morecan I use a filtered water faucet only at bar sink?

Comments (7)The only reason I went with the ISE was the difference in the temps. Boiling 212 degrees, which makes the hottest tea, and the "right" temperature for tea but too hot to be drinkable for me. I don't know, I just figured with the ISE I could set it lower if I wanted but it would have the ability to go that high if the 190 wasn't enough. I just used an instant thermometer to measure the temp of the water coming out at the factory setting that has been in the tank for a while and it is 180 degrees and is plenty hot for ME for tea, but some people like thier tea REALLY hot. So it depends on you. You might try making a cup of tea in the microwave heating the water to boiling and waiting until it cools down to the maximum drinking temperature for you and then using an instant thermometer to see what it is. Also, the ISE has a 5 yr in-home warantee depending on the model and the Quick and Hot 1 year, although if you get it at Costco that is pretty much a non issue I guess. Of coarse I haven't tried to return something after 3 or 4 years that only has a 1 yr warantee. Keep your receipt, anyway, in case you have problems down the line and they aren't selling them any more. I love Costco. Sue...See Morefrancoise47
