Hi All, Really nice job Larry, I'm nicely surprised to see corduroy comes in so many colors & in prints too. I don't see printed curduroy very often (saw my first in the early 80s when I was a textile designer & rarely since then). I liked them a lot. I'm a quilter these days (for the last 12+ yrs). But after the 1st couple of test quilts (small) I only work in all cotton. Have never made a tied one, mine are all machine pieced, machine quilted & have bindings around the edges, which are initially attached by machine, but then turned under & hand-stitched. I've never made a bed size quilt (yet) have one in progress for the last few yrs. I haven't washed any of my quilts (they hang on the walls like art, rather than on the bed). I explain all this to lead into discussing the blends & the backing. My general impression after textile school is that if one washes everything before cutting & sewing, washed in HOT & dried in HOT that SHOULD put an end to the shrinkage. I caution that I have not actually tried this, this is theoretical knowledge only. My understanding is that the shrinkage is really much more from the drier than the washer. Also, (Hi Libby, long time ...), if you're gonna do more quilting (esp. that dealts in cut squares or rectangles) you might want to invest in rotary cutter (sort of a pizza cutter for fabrics). Saves a great deal of time in the cutting process & if one irons & smoothes out the layers of fabrics very carefully, one can cut multiple layers of fabrics (or patches) at once. These rotary cutters are very sharp & are best used w/ special (specifically made for this) cutting boards underneath. Protects both the underlying furnitures & the cutting blade. A little more: So cute. Are your framed plane pictures matted? When I look closely it looks like they're either matted or there's a width of frosted glass or something that is not quite as white as the print. If they are matted, and the wall color is staying yellow, I would suggest taking them out and either painting them, or covering them with fabric, to something that will help seed them on the wall a little more. (I've both painted and used fabrics to change the color/texture of matting -- in the end there's no real difference other than the texture that fabric can add). Unless my color is off, I don't think those (look like/white) sheets are going to really tie in with the (looks butter) wall color. Maybe a red/blue/white/yellow stripe, or a plaid or something, or contrast the wall color with a navy or red/white stripe. Though it looks those sheets _would_ tie in to the shades, if you end up wanting to keep those (they look lime on my monitor as well). You could always go with blue walls. :) HTH

Shee, I have found that my kids really like the music and movement with mobiles. We've had the same Tiny Love mobile for the last 10 years, and all 5 kids have loved it! In fact, when I want to put the baby down upstairs, that is one of the only times I use the crib. The mobile keeps 'em happy for a little bit! However, it looks like they no longer make the one we got in 2002 and the new version is not as nice, so maybe there is something better. I am not sure why so many of them do NOT have high contrast (ours does). Weird. My friend gave us a mobile for the car seat (Take-Along by Tiny Love). Not something I would have bought, but my 10 week old is entranced by it. If she is fussy when I get her in the seat, the music and movement makes her stop! I was amazed watching her today, with her watching the mobile. This may be something you put on your registry if you are doing that. Not a need, but it's nice.
