Safe travels!

Well, thanks for the nice travel wishes BUT

I canceled the cruise, this past Monday, and did get 80 per cent back. Everything went smoothly!

I had this "feeling" and when I canceled I felt such a sense of relief, it is unbelievable to describe.

When I told my son, he said "mom, that's so not like you". And is true. Maybe it was the back to back cruises, or the long days across the Atlantic or just whatever?. I'm happy with the decision and no regrets.

No feelings hurt! I had a stateroom to myself, so that was no problem.

All the group is now in Orlando, and will travel to Ft Lauderdale to board the ship, Sunday afternoon.

I called the cruise line and plan to have mid-way a "goodie" sent to the stateroom of my friend, that is sharing with her daugher and another friend. Think they will be pleasantly surprised.

I did take out the anytime, any reason cancelation insurance, and after talking with the cruise line, Monday, they assured me I would get the 80 per cent back when the travel agent notified them. And I did, which included the flight as well.

Anyother time, another opportunity shall come. It was not the right time for this one for me.

Glenda - Sometimes you just have to go with your gut feeling. I've been there, done that, in various situations when it just didn't "seem right" for me at the time.

Thank you for your good wishes to me for my upcoming trip! I'm really beginning to get excited.

Glenda, I am so sorry that you had to cancel this cruise, but having been in the situation of not following my gut feeling once about a trip, I have total empathy for you in choosing to cancel. It is far better to have peace of mind than to be worried the entire trip.

And I'm guessing that with the money you got back, you'll be able to book two shorter cruises for another time! :-)

I can tell by reading your response that you do feel a huge sense of relief. It did not seem as though your heart was really into this trip, glad you cancelled and even better that you got money back. There will be other cruises!

Glenda, I am sorry you cancelled your trip, but I also know it was just not meant to be.We too have had those feelings over the years and we have either cancelled a trip, delayed it or???.We have felt in several incidents it even might have saved our lives. Have a good time enjoying the spring weather---IF it ever gets here.

You haven't said whether your discomfort was from the prospect of spending such a long time "at sea", some other reason, or a premonition of possible problems. No matter.

I don't believe in premonitions, but for some it's the sense of concern from thinking about ramifications and consequences. Your sense of relief when you pulled the plug says you made the right decision for you.

I'm happy with my decision, and no regrets.

Feel blessed that friend thought enough of me to ask me to join her group, but it was not my time for this cruise.

Sorry to hear you're not going on your cruise! My parents leave on Wednesday for theirs. They fly to Sydney Australia then cruise back to Hawaii, then to Vancouver. It'll take a full month. They've done this one once before. They leave on my dads 82nd birthday.

I'm happy to hear that you "listened to your instincts"-no idea why myself,just think it was for the best this time.

I'm glad you listened to your gut...you would have been uneasy the whole time if you had not.

I'm sorry you aren't going, but you did the right thing by heeding your instincts. There are other cruises in your future.

I don't think I would want to be on a ship on the ocean for that long, but my father and brother love the transatlantic cruises (they've been on 3 or 4). My brother has two scheduled this year--in three weeks, he is going from FL to Barcelona; in the fall, he is flying to Europe and cruising back to FL. He keeps Royal Caribbean in business--he's on a ship right now, and has two more Caribbean cruises in coming months.
