debri falling from sky

Friend emailed me, who lives in a community south of me, not too far away, Mt Laurel, said she found someone's pieces of laminate hardwood flooring in her front yard.

News said debri in that storm could be carried as far as 100 miles before dropping to the ground.

Yesterday, as the storm was passing, the tv station had debri falling all around.

Unbelievable watching NBC news coverage tonite.

University of Al where I graduated from, in Tuscaloosa, has cancelled classes for remainder of years, graduation cancelled but those that want to "walk" can do so in August. And students can take their present grade as their final grade if they choose.

I saw on our news that debris from Tuscaloosa was found in Anniston. This is a bad, bad year for tornadoes. I hope that doesn't bode true for the hurricane season.

Yes, I believe I'll have some more please! It was wonderful to hear the sound of thunder and of rain falling on the roof early this morning. Seems like it has been forever since the last time. Our rain gauge broke but the mesonet stations north and south of us are measuring 1.4 inches and .84 inches, and we think we're closer to the 1.4 measurement. Yesterday I got my tomato plants in, so the timing couldn't be better for the rain. And it's been for the most part a nice gentle rain, with a few downpours mixed in. Even though the kiddos had to have their Easter egg hunt indoors today, I think all of us who are over egg-hunting age were really happy to see the rain. Suzie

Your layout has some similarity to ours and we have plenty of light. Our cans have 65W floods in them so I think you have the correct bulbs. As to locations, our sink cabinet run forms an L where yours has an opening to get at the fridge. Because of your fridge, your light #4 is moved closer to the fridge where our equivalent #4 is in line with #5 and #6. We only have one can over our 3' sink where you have 2. We don't have a #3 light and our #2 light is over the left portion of the island (centered over the prep portion of the island as the right side has our range top with overhead vent & lighting). Because of the vent hood, we do not have pendants over the island. We do not have a hallway where your #1 light is located as that is just a doorway into the dining room, so we don't have a light in that location. Now we do have 3 cans located in the walkway on the other side of the island (where you have none). These 3 cans are parallel to lights #4, #5 and #6. This is where I think you have a dead spot that makes you feel as if you do not have enough light. We also have two cans on a separate switch above the dinner table (we only have these lights on when we are sitting at the table). You have more windows in your eating area with the bow and almost 6' on sink wall where we only have a 6' slider on sink wall and a walkway into the FR where your bow window is located. In summary, we have 7 cans around/over our island area (and 1 over the sink) where you have 6 (but more to forming an "L" as opposed to surrounding the island) and 2 over the sink. Since you feel you do not have enough light, I would have 2 more cans put in the walkway on the other side of the island that would be parallel to #5 and #6. HTH

That looks like “frass” from carpenter ants. They’ve been establishing a nest in your ceiling, chewing into the insulation to do it. Whatever material they find up there, the frass will resemble that. You can try tapping the ceiling to find a void and spraying some foam into it. Then spread a lot of ant bait around so they don’t survive as they move to a new spot.

I got this kind of weird dust on my cars parked outside overnight. It is very fine wheat powder-like tiny micro-size sticky dust I have never seen before. The color of dust looks like sort of amber or beige. When I tried to dust off using the car duster, the dust particle looked like having electrostatic or magnetic particles. Whenever I used the car duster before, it was so easy to clean the dust off the cars until recently. But today's dust on my cars are very different from the regular normal wind dust. It is magnetic and electrostatic dust, hard to remove using the car duster. There was no road works or street cleaning whatsoever recently around my house. There was somewhat gusty wind yesterday. No matter how strong the gusty wind might blow for several days, it was usually easy to clean the dust off the cars using my car duster until recently. But today's dust is something weird and exotic I have never seen before. I am afraid if I breathe in that kind of dust, it might cause some lung problem. I am worried. It makes me a little nervous if that kind of strange dust blow into my house through the open windows and contaminate inside of my house. Did anyone notice this kind of dust on cars today on 3-1-2021 ?

Piers Morgan is showing an interview with a University of Alabama student whose head was grazed by a jeep when the tornado hit there.

He described what happened around him, all in the space of about fifteen seconds.

That photo is shocking, Glenda - so glad you are safe.

That is all so awful. My dad got ahold of our family and they're ok. I can't believe so many people died, just horrible.

I heard a pawn shop in Tuscaloosa was destroyed and guns were falling from the sky! Scarey stuff.

It is Brian Williams on NBC, I think they did an excellent job on their coverage. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by these storms.

I have a lot of kids, who study in Tuscaloosa, working with me on school holidays.
They just started checking in (must've gotten power someplace).
Such a relief to hear from them

Oh, my gosh

Spend an evening without TV, then the day with your kids and grand kids and look what all you miss. That was just an AWFUL BIG tornado.

It's so sad. I could not believe the destruction and death. We even had three tornadoes in PA near me and got 3 and 3/4 inches of rain on top of 5 inches the other day. All totaled we got 14 inches for the month of April. There are floods and downed trees everywhere but nothing like those poor souls suffered.
