I agree with all of you: they're definitely Hollywood Regency. And I should recharacterize my own style, which is probably better said to be "*in* transition" rather than transitional. (: I do like clean-lined pieces, and our DR set is very Mission; the adjacent LR combines Mission and Art Deco; and our bedroom, where these chairs would go, is your basic Recovering Graduate Student/Random Wedding Present room. So funky/eclectic would fit in just fine there. And there's just something about these chairs... The room is a long rectangle. The half without windows is for the bed (not a bed per se, but rather mattresses on a metal frame) and the dressers, which are mismatched yard sale finds. On the other side of the room, I'd like to create a sitting/reading area next to the windows, with a gorgeous view of the mountains (by far the nicest thing about the room!). We got a red and tan handloomed Peruvian folk-art rug for our wedding, and that's what we'll use to set off the seating area. Also on that side of the room, framing one window, are some slender dark walnut modern-styled bookcases. And then the part I'd like to replace: a heinously ugly loveseat that a friend gave us, also on that side of the room. I'd much rather find some reading chairs and an ottoman than a loveseat anyway; the room's not that big, and the loveseat makes it a pain to open and close the curtains and shades. I agree these chairs don't look too comfortable, so they're probably not my ideal reading chairs. But they'd be good for draping the bathrobe or pulling into the LR for extra seating. I love the idea of velvet, and maybe even the box-pleated skirt -- hadn't thought of that, cool idea, thank you! I agree that they're great in a pattern, but I don't want lots of patterns clashing in my bedroom, I don't think. There are 3 groups of people that may respond. 1. People that LOVE it 2. People that HATE it 3. People that have only "heard" about it but have no expereince. We have the A&A Quick Clean Max. We love it - worth every dime! Let me first tell you why we love it. Aside from the initial brushing that is needed after start up, we have brushed our pool only a couple times in 2 years. Any debris that lands in the pool is quickly diverted to the skimmers due to the powerful venturi skimmers. These skimmers practically have what I will refer to as "toilet bowl" suction where you can literally see the floating debris move toward the skimmers and get sucked in. Any leaves that are heavy and may become waterlogged and sink and sent to the deep end by the pop ups and sucked into the main drain and into the leaf canister that resides at the equipment pad. Our system has a lifetime warranty, even on the pop up heads. Other brand pop up heads could run $80-120 each. I strongly feel that infloor is only as good as the installation. In our case, A&A Manufacturing received pool plans from our builder and they engineered the perfect placement of each head - and then the builder followed those plans to plumb the system. We do not have any dead spots like some may report. These are areas that accumulate dirt and debris... we have been so lucky that our infloor performs flawlessly. Some infloor systems can be sold over the counter and be installed by anyone... beware of these. You want a trained, licensed professional installing your infloor using plans engineered for your specific pool otherwise it may not be worth your money. I feel like a walking advertisement for A&A, but is it only because I believe in it and it works great! Oh ya, we paid $4000. Whew... that is all. Good luck!

repair_guy, I have read several of your past posts on this cleaner when I did a search for info. on the PC, and they were helpful. For a relatively standard free-form gunite pool (~18-20K gal), 3.5-7' depths, with a beach step, dedicated side vac. line mid pool, 1 hp Sta-Rite (dual-speed) pump to drive it -- do you think the 2-wheel version is adequate. What are the benefits of the 4-wheel over the 2-wheel with suction-side? Are parts (e.g. tires) pricey, and what other parts are prone to needing replacement? Also, does it take a lot of effort to tune the suction flow so this cleaner will work properly (climb walls well without slurping a lot of air at the waterline, etc.)? A lot of questions, I know, but I have never seen this unit in person. Thanks again for your insight.

I have the Aquabot T2 and would say it does a very good job cleaning, but if you get a bot, save the box. In 18mos I had two warranty repairs. The warranty work was done at no charge but in both cases my bot was gone for roughly 3-4weeks. I have a Barracuda for back up. Make sure you buy from an authorized dealer, otherwise your warranty may not be honored, and trust me, you'll need the warranty. If you have a raised drain, you may need the covers from Polaris. Without them, the bot will get stick on top of them. The biggest pluses to the bot is that it is very fast, cleans the sides and is self contained. The biggest negatives are that it has lots of parts and some wear out quickly. Many parts you will change your self like the treads and belts. The transformer needs to be covered when it rains. When it needs repairs, you have to have a backup, since the turn around is several weeks.
