Thank you all for your support it means the world to me. I've always been the type to beat myself up for not knowing how to do the things just right. It would not be so bad if dad's mind wasn't clear as a bell right now. His abuse of his medicine is a real concern for me. I got a call from him today saying he needs his antibiotic for his sinus, well he'll only take one or two and he says it cures his sinus. You and I know this isn't so and even if it does help it's short term, taking the antibiotics like that can cause harm but no one can get this through to my dad. I have had so many problems with doctors in my past that I don't trust them easily. It was me that saved my husband from a possible stroke, his blood pressure was high and I could tell when it was up but with the sleep apne he had to take showed how bad it was. They could not get it down all night so I marched into our dr.'s and told them about this and they looked back at his chart and seen that it was high everytime he went in for a check up. Now why don't they pay more attention to this? This is why I fear looking for yet another doctor. I have no luck with them. Only once did I have a wonderful doctor and within a year my insurance changed and he didn't take it :( He was the one that listen to me about my weight and took test finding that my thyroid was bad. I went through years with a sore throat and my throat closing up at night in my sleep, waking up unable to breath for 10 or so seconds but felt longer and didn't know if I'd get my breath. If it's wasn't for y'all I don't know if I'd be able to be strong for my dad. I never knew it could be so hard. I look at pictures of my grandparents, dads parents and talk to them and wishing they were here. They had a hard life and I can just image that they went through just what I am now. They took care of my great grandmother for 17 years then told my grandmothers brother it was time for him to care for his mother and give them a break. Great grandmother was called little granny and I never seen pictures of her but heard great stories about her, I found a picture of her the other day and I'm so happy to finally seen her, she past away a few years before I was born. So as it turns out you are correct, the transoms do separate from the window units. Our builder told us the cost to tear apart/reassemble the units would cost more in labor than a whole new unit. I'm fighting for a cost breakdown now. The cost for three new window units was about $8200 (labor + materials). They are charging us $2K for a full day labor even though it is a half day job because the framers have to come back with a special machine. I'm fighting this labor charge too. We decided to just replace the two windows in the sunroom (same transom, just 6' window unit instead of 5' window unit, making the overall window opening 7'). The cost to only replace 3 windows is $5900. I'm not thrilled and I'm hoping that fighting for the reuse of the transoms and the labor charges will bring us down a bit more. In the grand scheme of things this is a small charge in terms of what we're already spending and the look in that sunroom would eat at me forever if I didn't fix it. But I'm angry that the mistake should have been avoided (and therefore already paid for through our mortgage allotment). You live and you learn. Thank you for all of the advice and feedback.

Kate, I've done my share of QoV's, although I usually do them all on my own, and/or with blocks provided from this forum. I do have a long-arm machine, and I am on the QoV list to take in quilts. That all said - if I get a quilt to quilt, I would expect 3-4 inches each side. I would load the quilt and do a pantograph pattern - custom work is too expensive. Pantos are fairly quick, and most long-armers are pros who fit in one or two quilts a month for the QoV foundation, while trying to make the grocery budget. I would NEVER trim a quilt (and I'm up to 20 QoV's now). But I will say I would never fold the backing over for the binding either. I always use a french-fold binding for every Quilt of Valor. I also think the Foundation prefers this finish. Next time, tell the long-arm quilter specifically that you do not want the quilt trimmed, and then she won't. She probably thought she was doing you a favor. It is a pain though, that you didn't know what would happen!

carree, the Hirsch tile is gorgeous, but waaaaay out of my price range. I'm going to post a new thread for BS help. I'm finally back with some more details and hopefully some better photos. We just got the new NXR installed and a few last minute details finished. We made our first "real" meal in the oven tonight! Whooppeee-- feels like a real kitchen now. For those who asked about the NXR, I will try to post in the appliance forum, but the first one arrived with damage (ordered from Costco). After trying to get it repaired with warranty company, we opted to just return it and get another one. Smart move... should have just done that from the start. Anyway, the 2nd one is the charm and it works well. I'm posting a few new photos just because I'm embarrassed by how blurry the first ones are. Maybe I should edit the original post? I posted the insides of my drawers in another thread. As for the MO shelf, it looks nice when it's closed and seemed good when it was planned, but not sure that I would do that again. It's hard to open the cabinet next to it if it's open and it's just a PITA to open and close it. We are not big MO users, but our kitty seems to insist on having his food heated for exactly 8 seconds! Thanks again for the help and BS suggestions.
