New Pool Build - Lake Forest, CA

First of all, thanks to everyone for all of the great information found here. It was incredibly valuable in helping us choose a builder, consider equipment, etc.

We've just signed a contract with Mission Pools, here in Lake Forest, and are waiting to submit our plans for approval by our home owners assoc.

Here are the specs:

110'perimeter, with 24" and 36" raised bond beams in areas.

522 sq. ft. area, 19,575 gal., 3.5' to 8' deep

IG, gunite, mini-pebble(likely Wet Edge, color TBD)

Golden Ray stone face on raised bond beams

3" suction, 2" return lines, 2 skimmers, 2 Intellibrite LEDs

Raised 8' dia. spa with 8 jets, 1 Intellibrite LED

36" high jump platform

20' Inter-fab Build Your Own Slide

4' Rain fall cascade

1 Intelli Pro VS-3050

1 Dyna Pro 1 hp pump for slide and cascade

Pentair IC-40 SWCG

EZ touch wireless 8 controller

System 3 Mod Media 450 filter

405k BTU Ray-Pak Heater

680sf acid washed colored concrete deck

Color concrete coping or stone coping (TBD)

12'x20' open lattice patio cover, supported by 24" pilasters.

Landscaping with irrigation and low voltage lights.

Thanks for letting me share, and I will start posting pics once things are underway. Of course, any feedback is appreciated.

I will say that one of the hardest decisions so far has been about installing an A&A in floor cleaning system. I still have time to do it (price seems right compared to others here), but it is listed as an option in the contract right now.

Sounds like a great pool!

I'm also on the fence about our PV3 in floor cleaner in our contract as an option. We will probably do it but I'll keep a close eye on the installation to make sure it follows Paramount's design.

Hey Janet - BEAUTIFUL pool. I'm glad to see it came in just right for you guys. I'm also in Cypress. Actually, our home is up closer to Tomball (2920 and Cypress Rosehill area), but my law firm is near Jones and Grant. I just had my FIRST meeting with a PB tonight, and we're excited, but COMPLETELY overwhelmed. Do you mind giving me the full name of your PB? If you had a really good experience, I'd love to speak to them and get a bid. I'd to get at least 4 or 5 bids before I pick a PB. My wife and I have an interesting situation in that we have a LOT of room in the back yard (we are on 4/5 acre lot in the forest), but we have two massive trees that we want to work around AND build an appx 800 sq foot outdoor living room/kitchen/bar. We need JUST the right PB to make our pool integrate with our house, our lot, and our forest. We really want to do this right, and it looks like your PB did a great job! (Although I'm very impressed at your design work!)

So sorry I have been MIA and didn't post finished pics yet. We found at a few weeks ago that we are expecting a baby (our first!!!) and I started a new job, so I have been a little distracted! Somehow, the pool being done was the least exciting thing that happened that week :-) The pool started filling with water on Oct 1st (3 weeks and 1 day from the dig) and we were swimming on Oct 3rd! I will try to post pictures this weekend (I promise!). Gardenlady: We have had zero problems with Brad and are very satisfied with how quickly things were done. He was always available via cell phone and we always dealt directly with him. I am very happy we chose him to build our pool. No complaints!

It would seem the consensus is that Paramount's systems are the best, and perhaps if my builder were selling that model I might be more inclined. I don't know...it also seems like in floor cleaners are just 1 more system to have problems with down the line (but same can be said for anything). Jury is still out for me.

I'll help you make your decision on the in floor cleaning system. You wont need one to help keep your pool clean in Lake Forest. I used to clean a lot of pools in your neck of the woods. Its not needed. Waste of money.

Demo started on 5/24 and progress pix can be found at the link attached.

Looks like we'll get our patio poured this week, and maybe the ledger stone and stone coping will be done this week as well.
