Hi Grace: Since you are in zone 5a like mine. It's good to watch out for hardiness so you don't lose roses to winter. Earth Song is hardy to zone 4, moderate scent, can reach to 6' tall in warm zone, or 4' tall in cold zone. All the Carefree series that Kathleen mentioned are hardy in zone 5a, and make a spectacular display, no scent though, and shorter than Knock-outs. The thornless Bohemian Rhapsody is hardy to zone 5a, with strong fragrance at 3' x 4'. Since you ask for a FRAGRANT, rrr, healthy hedge - nothing beats the rugosas in health. Frau Dagmar Hartopp is hardy to zone 3, nice fall color, large red hips, STRONG fragrance, low shrub. Hansa is pretty flower, zone 3, moderate scent, 5' x 5'. Jens Munk is moderate scent, red hips, best for hedge at 5' x 5', hardy to zone 2. Therese Bugnet with nice fall foliage only has light scent, 7' x 5'. This would make a tall pretty hedge, hardy to zone 2. All the above Rugosas are sold at High Country Roses in Colorodo. Big healthy plants for band-size, shipping cost is cheap, great customer service. Last year I ordered 5 Austins from them and the total cost was around $100. Rugosas are sold there at a lower price than Austins.

We binge watched it last weekend. I have mixed feelings. I understand how cruel kids can be, and how rumors get started and spiral out of control. I also understand that I and our kids grew up in a very small school where everyone knew everyone. Yes, 12 of the 13 people in the tape caused her pain and sadness. But, if you watched closely, at least some of what she said happened didn't happen that way. As the one kid, Tony, said, "it's her truth". She also had a bit of an attitude that didn't help her in some cases. I wish they would have emphasized more that it's a permanent solution to a temporary problem. They made the parents, and teachers for that matter, look kind of like idiots. How many TENTH graders do you know talk and act like these kids did in this show? It seemed to me anyhow, they acted like young adults already out of college. Also, how many people actually let their kids do what these kids did? Parent asks a question, the kid blows them off with a shrug or a smart remark and skulks away and the parents allow that. Really?! It wasn't that way in our house. I don't know, they made the parents look clueless and pretty much uninvolved, sometimes because the kids wanted it that way and sometimes because the parents didn't bother. I absolutely understand where people have trouble with this show. It almost comes across as a final revenge. "I'll make you all look bad and people will hate you, so there, take that, it's all your fault. Everyone will finally feel sorry for me/about me." Sadly, it would all be forgotten in a short amount of time. If it opens up communicating between parents and kids then it could do some good. I just don't know how you can have such a deeply disturbed kid and not see anything.

I also have an Electrolux. I have griped about it here, but now that I've figured out how to get it to work for me I really hope it did not hear me willing it to die every day. It's nearing 10 years old. I've always loved how clean it gets my very dirty laundry. My only gripe has been with the rinsing. This has been much less of an issue lately and I suspect it's because I am no longer experimenting with detergents. Some just leave a crazy amount of residue in the washer, and I suspect for a while a lot of the stuff I was washing still had that residue left. We have nothing "lightly soiled" here. My teen daughter and I spend several hours per day dancing/heavy workouts and between the two of us we have the most wretchedly sweaty smelly laundry. We all do a lot of outdoor work and get mud/sweat plus I groom dogs which is a mess on it's own. There is no way for me to wash with minimal amounts of detergent, so what I normally do with really grungy loads is just wash on a normal or heavy duty cycle without an extra rinse, then run the shortest wash to get an extra good rinse. When I have to use a top loader (visiting relatives) my clothes that aren't half as dirty don't seam as clean. I've been looking at washers a lot lately, and when it comes time it's a toss up between another Lux, or possibly an LG. I will say we have never had a single repair, wobble, or other problem with it. It's been very reliable and I like the simplicity of it. About your soaking question.....I use my washer to soak often. I often do it for whites that need a good amount of oxy bleach (towels, flour sacks) or sometimes my workout wear and delicate dancewear that cannot tumble so long in hot water. I just start the wash, let it tumble a minutes, then pause however long I feel like, then run a normal wash after draining.

@JudyG Designs thanks for your input.. :-) in my mind 'no offense intended' translates to i am going to offend you.... and that put my guard up.. i would have phrased it differently.. I would keep the floor if I could (that grey is very nice by the way) but 3 companies said it cannot just be cleaned and polished as the original company used a proprietary acrylic coating and they are out of business... so the only way is to grind to raw concrete and redo... and after 11 years the coating is worn at spots, there are chips from dropping things, there is wear in the high traffic areas, peeling at the edges, etc.. I agree the green was not a good choice - it is only on one wall.. bi am bad at color choosing.. I chose a georgia rose for my bedroom that now looks lavender.. yuk.. I have a friend who is a decorator who is in charge of paint colors in my house moving forward.. as in the title my original post was that the cost was more than I anticipated for the floor.. because of the grinding... I will either bite the bullet and spend the money to grind and do tile or grind and redo concrete or decide on a floating engineered hardwood...
