Getting value for a dollar when buying bananas

I like to buy the bigger bananas, 'cause I like to get value for money.

When one looks at a large banana, and peels it, were one to weigh the edible flesh, and the peel, separately, there'd be a higher proportion of flesh to peel than there'd be when weighing the valuable flesh and the compost-bound skin of smaller bananas.

But ... a "serving" in the banana field is almost always - one banana ... which of your friends, when offering you banana ... cuts one (large) one in two ... and you get only half?!

So, since a dozen "servings" of smaller bananas costs a substantial amount less than a dozen "servings" of a larger banana, one saves money ... per serving.

One saves ... a "bunch" ... could one say?

But for getting the most edible material per dollar ... the larger banana is the best choice.

Right?

One consolation might be ... that if you have some cookies that have become over-dry ... dropping a banana peel in with them overnight freshens them up somewhat.

But - that works, regardless of the size of the banana.

ole joyfuelled ... who also likes a taste of banana
