Pulldown Kitchen Faucet w/ Touch Control

Hi all,

I saw a pulldown faucet on TV - maybe it was an HGTV show? Anyhow it had the ability to lightly touch a button in the spout and the water would turn on. They talked about how when you've worked with chicken or something messy you can easily turn the water on with your wrist and don't have to touch the handles. Does anyone know what they call this feature and what brands have it? I've been searching on "touch control" and just keep getting commercial faucets. Thanks in advance!

Maybe they were talking about Delta's Touch2O technology?

Even better is a completely touch-free way to turn any faucet on/off. Check out the TapMaster...it's a foot pedal (or knee-touch) that turns water on/off w/o having to touch anything at all...not even a button or the stem of a faucet.

I haven't heard of the faucet w/a button, but it does seem to me that if it's a button your wrist would not work...unless the button sticks out and is not one that's recessed.

I think the Delta Pilar is one that you just have to touch the stem, no particular button to hit...which seems better than having to touch a button...you would have a wider target area.

My recommendation as to usefulness (and aesthetics):

#1...TapMaster (or similar) - added advantage: it works for any faucet, you're not limited to the style/finish of a particular faucet.
#2...Delta Pilar-type
#3...button

Wrapped in metal? My Price Pfister is. It's going to depend on models. I've seen some Kohler and Grohe that are metal. Also with steel wrapped hose and not plastic. But again it depends on model.

We have a Brizo Pascal (made by Delta) over the main sink. It includes touch control and IR control. It has two problems. (a) The spray head stream/spray mode is controlled by a button, and this button rarely works. That is, pushing it does not usually cause transition to spray mode. This degradation in function occurred within a few months of initial operation and the spray head needs replacement. (b) The control electronics loses track of what functional mode it is supposed to be operating in. In this state the the water flow will randomly turn off until the faucet is touched, or operate in the IR mode unexpectedly, etc. Correcting this condition (temporarily) requires pushing a button on the unit to induce a reset. This was noticed several weeks after installation. Several possible design flaws come to mind, but a design revision would be the generic fix. Otherwise the faucet works fine. I have concluded that product design funding went to style, and not substance, and the Brizo price premium does not buy a reliable electro-mechanical product. The three purely mechanical Brizo faucets that we also have still function well after approximately 2 years of use. kas

As I usually do, I will suggest skipping electronic faucets and pick out any faucet you like and equip it with a Tapmaster which is an entirely mechanical foot pedal. You do touch the pedal, but you never have to touch the faucet!

In addition to the Pilar, delta has a number of touch sensitive and also at least one no-hands faucet in their Brizo line.

I think it is the Delta Touch20. It looks really cool but FYI, when I inquired about it, the salesperson said you're in trouble if your electricity goes out!

Salesperson was wrong. It uses batteries.
