I fell off the bed!!

I was sound asleep and dreaming that a man had grabbed both my legs, I jumped to get him off of me and I fell off the bed!!! I guess it was more like a nightmare!! It sure did hurt my knees when I fell on them. I feel like such an idiot! Have any of you experienced such??

P.S. This was an afternoon nap!

Hi Rosey,

Maybe put the word out among your friends, the next time someone buys a new mattress ...

... maybe they'd let you have their old one? Or is there room on the floor for one beside your bed.

Three or four folded blankets, at the very least, no?

When I worked in a hotel in Alberta - holy cats: it was over 25 years ago; seems like just a few days before yesterday ... stayed in a room there and ate in the restaurant. One day while reading the paper at the counter ...

... I went to sleep and fell off of the stool.

You can imagine that it took some time for the regulars to let such a good story lie!

Your legs must have been really hurting to make you dream that.

I rolled right off the side of my bed several months ago. Right in the middle of the night. I suddenly realized I was rolling and I landed flat on my back, on top of the sheet and blanket!

I have bad knees and I couldn't pull myself up although I could sit up, so I scooted on my backside to the bathroom, managed to lean over the toilet, grab both sides and somehow pushed/pulled myself up enough to grip the vanity and finally got up. Don't remember that I was dreaming anything. Strange feeling!!

Hi, pink. Tell them only plastic orchids don't drop the flowers when they're thru blooming. The best advice I can give you, if you really want to learn to grow orchids, is to buy a good beginners book like Ortho's All About Orchids.

I was behaving really well when Rita posted about Earlybirds big sale collection, then posted about it again. The second time nosey had to look and bingo! Bass Gibson and Hyacinth Macaw were both on sale by Mark at Abundant...an excellent vendor. I had to at least post a bid, since none had been made, and Hyacinth Macaw was a steal at $35! Bless goodness, no one else bid on it...just three minutes before the end of the auction, I saw that no one had bid on Bass Gibson. and there were two of them offered with no bids. I had to bid on one of them. And there were no other bids on either one. So I am awaiting two new daylilies when I wasn't going to buy anymore. I've already blamed Rita, so I will just blame the addiction. kay

The second seedling is definitely a keeper! Be careful in the garden around it because it has teeth big enough to take a big bite out of you. Stunning. The first seedlings just shows us that we shouldn't discard a daylily based on its first bloom. Ann

I hear you ladies........since I've hit 40, I first had my gall bladder removed. Then a year ago, I had a bladder suspension, now I'm trying to deal with my lifelong endometriosis and cyst pain. I spot bleed on and off all month. The loss of hair on your head and additional hair on the face is no picnic........... But.....if we had lived just a century ago, we would really be in "Old Age", nearing the end of our lives. The good thing is, that we really are still young enough to enjoy our families and choices that we've made in life. Even with all the nuisances of mid-life, I wouldn't change and go back 30 years. Nothing comes easy.....getting where you are today didn't come easy...I have a philosophy that our bodies break down as we age, we become dependant (somewhat) on our families and on God, and leave this world in the same condition that we came.......there is a lesson in it, it's up to us to get it......trials, blessings, the whole package of life.

I've fallen out of my own bed, too. I dreamed I was sleeping on my DH's side of the bed. I rolled over to my left and went off the edge into thin air. I don't know how I missed hitting my head on the nightstand. Yes, I felt like an idiot that time...and again, more recently.

One evening last summer I went into my closet to take off my clothes and put on my robe and slippers. I didn't bother to turn on the light; I know where everything is in my closet. I sat down on the ottoman to remove my shoes and socks, forgetting I'd failed to reposition it while vacuuming that day. Bang! I sat right on the hardwood floor. DH came to see what had happened and to ask why I was laughing. I felt so dumb -- and grateful I hadn't damaged either artificial hip. I did develop a colorful bruise.

I just fell off of the bed last week too. I was sleeping to close to the edge and rolled over and sat on the floor. Havent done that in years.

Oh, it's easy to do!!
Luckily it hasn't happened to me (yet) but nightmares can do weird things.

The most I have is just as I fall to sleep, I jerk and wake myself up. I've been known to kick the cat off the foot of the bed doing that.

I did that a couple of years ago. Woody had gotten up to let the dogs out and I decided I'd get up to go to the bathroom. Somehow, I fell out of the bed and ours is really high up, and I landed on both of my knees with a tremendous crash and it shook the house and scared the cats. I knelt there for a minute, totally stunned and unable to figure out how that happened. I think I wasn't completely awake and I sort of slid out before putting my feet down. Scared the hooey out of me and made me feel like an idiot, but I'm really glad I didn't hit my head on the nightstand, that could have killed me.

So I know what you're going thru! :) Worst part is, I keep a body pillow on the edge of the bed just for that reason, fear of falling, and it failed me! Oh, and my knees were sore for about 6 weeks, as I recall.

Oh, Arose -- I hope you're loading up on Advil! Take it easy the next few weeks until your knees recover.

Did your knees end up with a rose colour ... or was it more purple?

And can we assume that your commentary on the situation included some purple prose?
