Kitchen cabinets in new build: stained or painted?
Comments (42)For me, white doesn't feel right unless it's inset or full overlay. Obviously others have different tastes. I still might do a QS oak island and priced it out vs painted maple and cherry... The price difference was a few hundred dollars, so nothing huge. I think it's more asthetics. I am also much less concerned about white painted cabinets around my three hellions (er.... Boys) than I would be dark stained, mostly because we have had a lot of dark stained furniture dnged up by them!...See MoreShould we paint over our stained molding, doors etc?
Comments (2)"We live in the south where painted wood is usually preferred what do you think?" I think if the wood is good shape leave it natural, you might get a fashion consous yankee buyer. Should you get a Southern you might offer to freshen it up or give them an allowance for paint....See Morenew door... should we paint or stain??
Comments (15)The front of your house looks great! Nice job! I quite like the look of the blonde wood as is! I would clear coat the doors, they're beautiful. Next you should concentrate on landscaping and adding more pots of flowers to get that hit of colour. Perhaps replace cushions on bench with coloured cushions? Whichever way you go, your house is lovely!...See MorePaint or stain on new trim added to existing stained cabinets?
Comments (2)around the cabinet I would remove it it doesnt be long. around the mirror stain to match the cabinet. if the trim around the cabinet it to cover a gap I would fill it or caulk it and paint it to match the wall....See Morecanuckplayer
