Probably worse since I've been on the computer for 20 years or more and type everything.

My handwriting has changed many times over the years, mostly because I've played around with it. It still looks good when I take the time with it, but when I'm rushing to jot down notes it's a sloppy mess.

Still the same or better...IF I take time and don't get in a rush.

I think mine has improved over the years unless I'm in a hurry & then it's kinda sloppy. I write letters to a friend back east because she doesn't have her computer any more, and it always seems like such a chore to sit down & write a letter. By the time I'm done, my hand usually hurts, too.

My penmanship has always been poor and it's actually gotten worse. The arthritis in the base of my thumb makes it difficult to grip the pen properly. And as a survivor of Catholic school where the Palmer method reigned supreme I've always been self conscious of my poor hand writing. I even got a D in penmanship in 4th grade that I've never forgotten.

I've always had bad hand writing. My printing is much more legible. When I was in third grade, I got As in everything but a C in hand writing. I was very upset and I "practiced" writing at my desk at home. It never got any better.

Mine looks like a doctor's handwriting these days, it really has deteriorated.

Back when I was in high school, I had wonderful handwriting/printing. People would actually ask me to address invtations and that sort of thing from them. They don't ask me anymore. :-)

Mine is terrible now, I don't even recognize it anymore! I look at checks I write and it really is obvious my arthritis is winning! Kathy

Got better for a while, then along came the computer.
Someone once told me that my handwriting would be more legible if I made a little more space between letters. I have found that to be true. Try it.

I can write like it did in high school if I take my time and only write a few sentences. But otherwise my penmanship was ruined by law school - hours and hours of trying to keep up with what the profs were saying. It looks like chicken scratch.

My aunt is almost 70, a catholic school survivior, and her penmanship is still perfect. I love getting cards from her.

Count me in with Glenda, though if I take my time it looks pretty good. My mother and sister had beautiful handwriting and I always wished mine was like theirs but alas, it was not to be, but wasn't too bad.

Worse and mine has never been great. I print and do cursive in the same word and have just never had a pretty "slant" to my writing. It's gotten so bad that a lot of times I type what I need to and then just sign it. Sigh...

I used to have really pretty writing (years of learning and using the Palmer method and writing all school papers by hand) but now my writing is spotty, to say the least. I have developed a tremor in my hands which comes and goes. Some days the writing is just fine, others I have to struggle to write a check with a recognizable signature. Oddly, I find I can write just fine, most times, in a large format with a felt-tip pen. Maybe it's large-muscle control versus small-muscle.

Mcmann--LOL--I survived Catholic Schools too & my 2nd gr Nun was constantly smacking my writing hand with the ruler (wasn't holding my pencil properly)! My hand writing has always looked like a 7yr old boys--NOW, I have a hard time reading it---HORRIBLE--

My parents both had beautiful penmanship & my DS's still do! Oh well--

Mine has gotten much much worse...the more I use the computer, the more erratic my handwriting is.

I used to pride myself with my printing, since I took drafting in high school (back in the day of pencils, rulers, and vellum -- not CAD). Not anymore.

I can barely write a check anymore!

And guess what? I'm currently working for a company dedicated to becoming a "paperless" office...huh? I guess that's good since I type 90+ wpm, but can't write to save my soul...

Definitely worse! I blame it on computers. LOL I had to sign my name today and it was pathetic!

My penmanship has not changed much since highschool days. It was quite passable and when I slow down, it can be quite good. Surprisingly, if I allow my speed to increase to a 'natural' level, after a warmup period, it becomes nicer -- not more more precise, but better formed curves and a prettier hand.

I am old enough now to have observed the changes in penmanship as my relatives aged out, and I have noticed marked changes in their hand that reflected the state of their health and mind. As nerves misfire and muscles do not respond as well, the smooth lines and curves become jagged. As eyesight fails, and coordination reduces, the nice staight line begin to drift all over the page, and more words are missing in the composition. I could see mother's heart condition developing in her handwritting - It was sad to observe. However, she did live past 96.

I have two styles of penmanship - note taking, and regular. My note taking when hurried is horrible. I may not be able to decipher it 3 hours later. This was a forced habit for note taking in classes. When I calm down, my writing returns to a better level, but as I age, it is not as precise as I would like. Caffeine affects my writing. Too much, and my hand literaly locks up if I hurry.

I too took Palmer Penmanship in catholic school; they should have asked for their money back because it didn't work on me. I could have drawn those interlaced capital O's from now 'til doomsday and still have signed my name like a pro athlete's autograph. In fact that's the closest thing to a baseball player's talent that I have. I'm a no-tool player - can't run, throw, field hit or hit with power but I sign as illegibly as any of them.

Mine is definitely worse. People still tell me I have nice handwriting but compared to what it used to be, I consider it a disaster. Oh...to be young again!!!

I use to have really nice handwriting and did hand notes and cards with calligraphy. Like everyone else my ability has deteriorated in the bast few years. If I take my time, I do pretty well. But, sometimes it is hard for me to even write a check.

Mine is much worse! I use the computer for everything! I 'write' letters occasionally, but they are typed on the computer and then printed out, along with photos to make kind of a newsletter. I also used to do calligraphy, but it was very time consuming for me. I get embarrassed now when I write a quick note in a card because my writing is so bad.

Another Catholic schooler and Palmer Method Penmanship "graduate". I mastered perfect Palmer early on and despite RA, etc. I still have beautiful cursive writing. Oddly enough, I can't print well.

Mine has always been nice. I got A+'s in penmanship in grade school and I still have good writing. I'm a Calligrapher as well, so having good handwriting helps me to be even more proficient when I do my artwork.

And, one of my talents (if you want to call it that) is that I can copy anyone's handwriting and it looks just like theirs. I used to write all our "hooky" notes in school because I write just like my mom, now 72, who's handwriting still looks just as nice now as when she was younger.

Mine is pretty much the same . . . if I take my time. If I write in a hurry, it's much worse.

I remember when my MIL sent letters and her handwriting was getting so bad. Now mine is. that's old age for you.

Mine used to be pretty and still is if I don't get in a rush. I got in a habit of writing fast at work and it is barely legible.

I find it harder to write now than before. The muscles in my hand get really tired. I know it's from typing so much on the computer. I can still write like I used to, but it is an effort.
