I'm sorry you are feeling bad, Anne. All that noise isn't helping. Is there somewhere you could go where it's quiet? Your friend's or family's house?

Aw, Anne. I'd love to be your mommy. I didn't have heavy periods but I had awful cramps. Mine quit when I was 50.

Maybe turn on the radio to help drown out the noise.

I hate neighborhood noises like that..the repetition wears on me. I always turn my music up loud enough to drown it out. Someone around here is always doing something noisy to their houses or yards. Hope you get some relief soon.

Anne I don't want to scare you but if you rarely have a headache you might need to go see a doctor.

Your toothache needs to be attended to as well but for the time being can you hold a cold liquid of some kind in your mouth next to your tooth that's hurting? That will help freeze it and sooth it for a bit also put an ice pack on the top of your head see if that eases the headache, I have migraines all the time and the first thing I do is get the icepack and find a dark quiet place to rest. Try the closet with the door closed if it's dark and quiet maybe the headache will ease up.

You need to see a doc for the other thing too, you are probably going through the change and may need to be on hormones.... Sorry I think the best thing for you right now is the doctors office.

Aw man, I can just imagine what you're going through. Same thing here with the banging and tapping since 9 this morning. All their doing is laying new carpet in the foyer and stairs. Geeze, what does it take? Wears on your nerves, and your headache and toothache on top of it has to be driving you nuts. Don't know if you take them, but I take 4 Advil or Motrin brand to equal two 800mg prescription strength ibuprophen. Works every time, even for my acid reflux even though I should have taken medication for that, too. If you decide to, don't take them for too long. Try to get to your dentist soon.

Gosh, I hate when "pain" happens and there is nothing around to get over it. Next time I happen to have a Doctor's prescription, I'm going to save it for times like that instead of flushing the leftover pills.

Awww Anne...I'm so sorry...I had those killer headaches monthly from the time my son was first born up until i turned 44...so about 12 years...it took me forever to get a doctor to give me meds..when I found immetrex I could cope...now I get one maybe once or twice a year...

like I said my periods stopped when i was 44...i'm 52 now...still get really hot...but I think it's mostly the extra weight i'm packing...your body temperature REALLY does go up with them personal summers though.

I hope you get that tooth fixed soon...that's just adding to your misery...Look for one of those old fashioned ice packs at the drug store...fill that baby with ice for your head and hopefully that will give you some relief!!

I'll be your Mommy and hold your hand. And believe me, I am old enough to be your Mommy.

I used to have terrible allergy headaches. You will laugh at the remedy I used, but it worked wonders. I would simmer cider vinegar on the stove. People would ask if I was making pickles. Why it worked, I don't know, but one thing I do know, is that it did work wonders. Also if you mix equal parts of turpentine with salad oil and rub it on your forehead, it will often help to. However, the smell is something else.

It's roofers over here. Behind and around us is Windsor Housing and they are all getting their roofs done. They work on ten places at a time and have been doing this for two weeks now. Between the hammering, the Blang! Blang! of stuff being tossed down into the bins, and Ruby barking her fool head off I am ready to run away.

Let's go to tahiti and get ourselves some umbrella drinks! But no Cabana boys this time.

Turn off any lights, draw the curtains, close the blinds. Put in some ear plugs, and put a cold wet facecloth on your forehead. Lay down and try to sleep. That is all I can ever stand when I have a migraine. Dark & quiet. Advil liquigels do it for me.
And I know what you mean about wanting your Mommy! LOL! I feel like that too sometimes.
I am 53 Anne and haven't had that monthly visit for over a year now. However the hot flashes and mood swings did appear for awhile. They seem to have taken a hike at the moment though. Hopefully for good!
I hope you can get some relief soon! Can you see a dentist for that tooth?

It's more than likely that the toothache is the cause of the headache. I had a HORRIBLE headache, the worst I've EVER had, I thought I had a brain tumor! LOL The doc sent me to the dentist... had a root canal, and NO MORE headache!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry you are feeling so poorly. Ibuprofen for cramps, excedrin for headaches! keep some on hand!

I'd get two pillows and keep one in the freezer and under over your head at all times.
I would walk across the street and ask the neighbor how much he'd be because you didn't feel good.
I would go to the store and get whatever you needed.
I would make sure you had some pain relievers.

I know that feeling. I was the same way when they two families across the road had roofs put on, by the same person, back to back! That nail gun going bam! bam! bam! for six straight days almost drove me crazy!

Take some "Rescue Remedy" and a couple aspirins. It'll calm you down and make your headache go away.

I feel better, at least my head isn't pounding anymore nor is the guy across the street. I don't know why this noise got to me but it did. I think it was his rythm of taps. Roof went up across the street at another neighbour's the other day and that didn't bother me at all.

I found the headphones in a hat box but no batteries for my old Walkman. I had 1 aspirin left which I took then I went to bed, pulled up the covers and put a pillow over my head and woke up just now because someone was knocking at my front door and Loki barked. I guess little Lucy was sleeping on the pillow on my head and when I jumped up startled she flew off. LOL Poor kitty!

I also guess I shouldn't have said I have a toothache. I have a mouthache under a tooth LOL. My gum was sliced just under a tooth from a chicken bone and the glands under my tongue swelled and my bridge has been pressing on both and irritating it. The pain feels like a toothache though. I never thought of using ice on it.

I can't believe I slept as long as I did and I didn't move once I got into bed.

Thanks for your concern and the tips if I ever have another headache which I hope is none to soon.
