Grass wont grow on a beach.....so compare what you have and decide how best to use it. Sand is a marvellous drainer of moisture. Chances are the sand you have is not good for gardening. If its beach sand, or sand more likely found in a child's playbox, it is not what one should use for helping plants drain. What you have to do to the area is devise a plan on how to get organic matter into the ground under the sand. Six inches of sand...you didn't say what the area was...so we assume it was a 30' wide above ground round pool. That would work out to about 12 cubic yards of sand. You have a lot of work to do. If the sand is the type that can be used for gardening....that is, it is a coarse grain type, then maybe you can offer it to friends and neighbors to come and take what they want. Spread out over a wide area, and dug down 6" - 12" could be done if it is this type. You might get in touch with a quarry in your area and offer it free of charge. Probably tho, they wont accept it--they have lots without it. You'd have to hire a front-end loader to take to a truck to haul it away. To dig it in and cover over with topsoil might prove to be a bigger headache. Sand, the type that comes from the beach, will not drain moisture, instead, it will cause soil to become like granite...especially if it is clay soil. A sign out front...."free sand" might get rid of some..just don't tell them its not the type for gardening. Lots of kids in the neighborhood, the sign might read 'good for sandboxes'. Its too bad you didn't write into the sale documents that the sand had to be removed by seller. The people in North Dakota could use it.

These control joints should not be effected by putting the polymeric sand in them. Their sole purpose is to create a weakened plane in the concrete to control the cracking. I have never seen the polymeric sand used in this manner. Maybe someone else will chime in. I would think silicone or some other crack sealant would be more appropriate. I️ stopped using coarse sand/ washed sand years ago for paver joints because it allows weed seeds to fall between the joints and germinate. If the joints between the pavers are fairly wide, you can expect the pavers to shift out of place if joint sand is not applied and people are transversing the patio. Polymeric sand is definitely the way to go. Do not apply when the edges of the pavers are wet however, because the sand will stick to the sides and may cause a reduced amount to fill the joints and may cause hazing on the paver surface. The biggest issue when applying polymeric sand with wet pavers is hazing or sand sticking to the pavers. Very difficult to remove once that dries. If the patio’s upper surface is dry, considering the size of your patio, I️ would be comfortable applying polymeric sand. You will be getting the sand wet anyway once the sand is swept into the joints. The sweeping should be fairly quick. Just make sure to sweep/ blow off as much of the excess sand as possible, compact the pavers, finish filling the joints and water, water, water in and blow off the pavers according to the manufacturers suggestions so you don’t have an issue with hazing.

Since drywall will be damaged anyway, save yourself time, and cut it out, and put in a new piece of drywall, and tape and mud it and sand and prime. I do have to agree, that the back splash cannot be reinstalled, and that it isnt a very pretty one either. Please choose another backsplash, that actually will go with your kitchen and maybe a bit lighter in color. That one is so in your face, that the rest of your kitchen, isnt what you see when you look at the picture. Sorry you have to do all this extra work. Your kitchen looks very nice. The black sink is just like the one I would like to replace mine with.
