Difference in water pressure for faucet?

Maybe I should post in plumbing but I was told there is a difference in water pressure (less) when you have a single lever faucet v. separate hot and cold. Is this true?

What do most of you prefer? I grew up with a single lever but as an adult have only lived in homes with separate hot and cold. I prefer the single lever in the kitchen because it takes one hand.

If you go with separate hot and cold, is there any difference between the vintagey looking plus sign handles (maybe crossbars - I don't know how else to describe) or the more typical lever style handles?

I want a cottagey vintage look, doing painted white maple cabs, wood look tiles, possible silgranit sink (or SS) depending on whether we go with the dark green or light beige granite.

Hello Catlover... There should be no difference in water pressure based on single or dual controls as far as I know. Many manufacturers post their waterflow (as gallons per minute). The feedback I have on cross or lever handles favors the lever handles, as they can be easily moved with the back of a wet hand as opposed to turning the cross handle with at least two fingers. Hope that helps!

What is the difference between water bath and pressure canning?

Water bath canning requires boiling water to cover the jar top. Pressure canning only uses 2 " 3 inches of water and has a special sealing lid in order to build steam and temperature to reach higher than boiling temperatures. Pressure canning is used for canning low acid foods as a water bath does not reach high enough temperatures to kill bacteria in low acid foods.

Both hot and cold? If so, it's probably not your plumbing. AFAIK, all new faucets are slower than old ones. It's a water saving measure. Time how long it takes to fill a gallon jug with water. Convert seconds to fractions of a minute, then compute gallons per minute (1 gal divided by the decimal part of a minute it takes to fill the gallon jug). Check this against the GPM specs on the manufacturer's website, or in the installation instructions packed with the faucet. If your faucet is considerably lower than spec, take it back to the hardware store and try a different one.
