I am no expert at Roman shades, but have made three. Mine are about 36" wide and have three lift lines. I just went into the calculator I had used and for a shade that wide, 5 are recommended. I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not, but somehow three does not seem enough.
I assume you have a lock mechanism? The only thing I can think of is to pull the shade up, then pull on just the cord which pulls the left side up to straighten it out. I am sure someone will happen along with other ideas.

I would return it. It looks like they have the little rings on the back sewed in the wrong spot. That would make some of the folds appear wider, which is making it hang longer.

Thanks for the responses. These were special order--six months ago! The sag is more recent (or at least I didn't notice it right away). I think I can re-attach the rings if necessary (will investigate when I get home tonight), but how do I know where to move the rings? Something just doesn't seem to be pulling right and I haven't been able to figure it out. Maybe I'll ask DH to take them down so I can see what's happening on the backside where the action occurs.

Pull it down, and straighten the blind out on the floor. I am sure the problem will appear obvious once you have done this.

If all else fails you can take it in to a fabric store and I'll bet they can help you there... or maybe somewhere like Calico Corners.

I just had a look at the back of the shade (after playing w/the cords a few more times). The rings are not symmetrically attached, there are even a couple that aren't attached at all! On the saggy side, the bottommost ring is attached several inches higher than the other rings (and one of the pull cords, perhaps that cord, is longer than the other cords).

I think I DO need to fix the rings, and it can be done, but I'm not exactly sure what to do. I will lower the left bottom ring and readjust the other rings so they are attached symmetrically. Hopefully that will fix the problem. I will post my results :-)

If you sew the rings back on or move them, just make sure they are all in line with each other across the blind. That will make everything hang right.

Thanks for all the great advice! Reattaching the ring on the bottom left side fixed the problem. I think it was probably attached when we first installed the blind but somehow came off. The rings are kind of like little key rings.

I am glad it worked out - so much easier than taking it back and dealing with the fights! I made Romans for three of my windows and have found that the more I raise and lower them, the more they get with the "program" and fall into nice folds. Pretty view outside.

This is kind of off-topic but I've considered making Roman shades (specifically I like what this website calls "London Roman shade) for my kitchen/dining area but I'm pretty amateur at sewing. How difficult of a project is making shades?

Melle - they are not that hard. It is all straight sewing. What is most important is the measuring. The ones I made are flat Romans - now wish I had done waterfall Romans, but didn't even know they existed! It looks like the London is made flat, then the bottom is sewn into the fan at the bottom.
What I suggest is that you go to Penney's and look at theirs. They should have several on display and you can see how they are made.
I used some information off of a website - Terrell Designs -I really thought they would be harder than they actually are. What was the worst part for me was the cutting. I also made full length side panel draperies and they only place I have to cut is the floor or my dining table.
Once you can see how they are made, they are not that difficult. Just remember to measure, measure and then measure again! Good luck!

Glad you were able to fix them without having to return them. And, yes the London Shades are really easy to make. Redbazel gave me instructions for one she made. Turned out great. Here is mine. {{!gwi}}

no-green-thumb: Thanks for the info! I will probably check out a library book--I know I had one in the past that gave detailed instructions on how to make several variations on Roman shades (it was a interior decorating book from the 70s that I checked out for fun).

I can remember reading that poem when I was a little girl and your post made me smile. Those kinds of things never occur to me with respect to decorating; I think I've got too much emotional baggage about keeping a "nice" home (l o n g story--in a nutshell my parents are hoarders).

Since living with the crooked blind wasn't an option I was willing to accept--lucky for me it was an easy fix! :-)
