I've always bought Starkist. Used to buy it in oil, but after Jammer's heart attack I switched to water packed. It's not near as good as the oil packed!

Price Chopper's own brand, solid white in water.

I buy the Wal-mart brand in the pouches.Water packed white tuna.

Same as Maryann....DH's heart attack changed ours from oil to water packed too years ago. I've gotten used to it and love it now. We use Starkist or Bumblebee.

I like the Kroger brand in water.

I use the Starkist in water in pouches. I haven't found bones in there yet like I have the canned stuff.

Bumble Bee or Starkist in oil. I crumble the heel of a loaf of wheat bread into it to soak up the oil and stretch it a little farther.

I always buy a good brand and always solid white..I love it in oil but don't buy it all that often but I will tell you this...it tastes so fabulous and if it is packed in oil, all you have to add is a little vinegar...no mayo or any other high fat stuff...just the remainder of the oil it was packed in and you drain off as much as possible...

On another board we were discussing tuna...I made a salad and added 1/2 can of tuna and I was raving about how good my "seafood" salad was....and one of the other girls mentioned

"Potunas" have you eaten those? I had to google it to even know what it was...but reading the reviews, I think I might try it...really a low fat version of it...

I only eat water packed BumbleBee white albacore tuna.

My brother always said "fish don't swim in oil".

Are you all saying that "chunk light" isn't as good? That's what I've always bought. Not liking it either.

I can't tell a difference? Is there one? I buy Kroger brand in water tuna. Should I try others? It costs enough as it is.......

I try to buy white tuna in water. I drain it and rinse,rinse,rinse. I don't generally like fish. Brand doesn't matter to me. My DH prefers Progresso in oil.

Definitely a difference in brands. I buy only Chicken of the Sea or Bumblebee solid white Albacore. It is worth the few pennies more. I like it in oil; it has a better flavor, but sometimes I get in it water. I like Tuna mixed with just chopped onion and mayo for sandwiches.

I drain it well and give a little of the oil or water to the cat on her dry food.

There is also the old stand-by Tuna, potato chip casserole that is good.

My sister got me started on the Albacore in water many years ago. I find Chicken of the Sea and Starkist pretty close in flavor and quality.

Maybe I cant tell a difference because I put seasoning salt, lemon pepper, garlic powder, mustard, lemon, regular salt & pepper, diced onion and mayo. I guess I could make would chips tasty!

I used to buy Starkist,Chicken of the Sea chunk tuna in water.I don't like the white albacore,too dry for me.But now i also don't like starkist,or Chicken of the sea.It's like mush when you open the can,and by the time you drain off the water there's hardly anything left.

So now i buy the store brand in water and find that is like what COS and SK used to be.So for me it's store brand in water always!!
I also eat it with just Mayo and a little bit of ranch dressing.

I've never had tuna packed in oil. I feel guilty enough adding mayo! I always buy the white chunk albacore, in water. Not really committed to any particular brand.

Starkist for me. Chicken of the Sea and Bumblebee have too much water added. I buy the 3 packs of individual cans in water at Walmart. Solid albacore for cold sandwiches and chunk light for melts.

Starkist packed in water. I haven't bought it packed in oil for about 20 years.
