Mom's cancer is back

I shared this with you many times.

She had 2 breast cancers, colon cancer over the last 10 years and lung cancer last June - all supposedly unrelated. Now she has thyroid cancer. She had half her thyroid removed today and and the surgeon let it slip that she has nodules on her lungs that showed up on the PET scan. She hadn't told us that. The surgeon thinks the thyroid cancer was one that had spread from lung or colon. Her cancer doc had said they were all seperate.

I am just falling into many little pieces today.

Could use many prayers. Thanks, Kathy

I will definitely pray for her. I will now ask our Lady, the most Blessed Virgin Mary, to intervene to God on young Katie's behalf. I will also ask Pope John Paul II who should be a saint in the near future. Through his intervention, God has cured at least one person for sure (a nun who suffered from Parkinsons like John Paul II did, was cured from one day to the next in 2005, a few months after he had died). The Church continues to investigate many other possible miracles accredited to his intercession. So I shall pray for her cure but God forbid, if she is taken, she will be with God in heaven.

Hi Mark, Always remember.....you are not alone. On this journey, you may be alone physically but never alone emotionally. Coming to this forum after loosing my mother in August 2008 made me see that there are other people on the exact same emotional plane I am on. There is nothing anyone can say that will make you feel any better but the support and compassion you will find here may be your line to surviving. It was for me. It has been 6 months since my Momma passed and things are more different than I could ever have imagined. Some days it is still a huge struggle. I can say that time eases the initial breathtaking pain but it also increases the longing. I have come to realize that grief is the emotional price I pay for loving my momma so much and so I have decided to try to embrace the grief. My tears are the only power I have to show the depth of my love for her and how her loss has devastated me. I also lost my older brother in July 2006 to murder. I had not seen him for a few years and his loss affected me totally different than my mother's loss. Every day is a struggle but I try to remind myself that she would like me to honor her and not waste my days so I have been trying my best. (((KAT))) You are definitely in my thoughts and prayers. (Methodist, BTW) The last MRI Glen had showed that it has spread to his lymph nodes. It must be the ones around his breast area. That is where he hurts a lot these days. The Nexavar doesn't seem to be as bad this time....at least not yet. He's only taken 4 pills. hugs, charlee

Dear Kathy,

No wonder you feel like you're in pieces...such a hard thing to know there's more cancer. And your poor mom..how awful she's had so many battles with this ugly disease.

Kathy, I am sending you strength. I lost my mom to cancer, 30 years after the first diagnosis, when I was 12 years old. My MIL had thyroid cancer and breast cancer. She is still living.

You have more strength than you know. You need to know that. (((hugs)))
