Did you enjoy them? I'm hooked on them. I buy them at work in the at the restaurant is our building. Hmmmmm!

Yes..we had strawberry cheesecake flavor just last weekend.

I think most posts were from folks saying they either liked it or they didn’t, not that it was an unusual choice or that they had never heard of it. My take away from this thread is that rum and raisin ice cream has been around for years but it is not a favourite of many. Our ice cream place is now featuring haskap berry and keso/queso. eta not combined, but I suppose one could have a scoop of each 🍨

I've never had a wild turkey for Thanksgiving but I've eaten at least a couple dozen over my lifetime. We always eat them fresh within a day or 2 of the kill and the seasons here are in April and October. My favorite ways to prepare is either grilled or cut the breast in thick slabs, bread or batter, and fry in peanut oil. Sometimes we soak the meat in buttermilk for several hours if time permits. I've never had one taste gamey at all. Best turkeys I've ever had were all wild.

So interesting to hear about that area! I would love to go to Wales and as a matter of fact, to England. I have been to Scotland and Ireland, including the north, so I nearly made it. My great grandfather was a coal miner, so that makes perfect sense. He came to Pennsylvania to work in the mines. What an awful way to make a living. Had to google abseiling. We call it rappelling and I would not do it so I did not inherit the gene for that! Thanks for the insights. I wonder if my ancestors made Welsh cakes. Most of the rest of my family came from Germany in the 1700s, so the cooking was PA German, known as Deutsch or Dutch. The cakes do sound yummy.

@hhireno that Broccoli slaw looks really good, thx! I don't mind them with mayo and bacon but i prefer a cleaner, fresher taste. On an entirely different note, I lobbied to make broccoli cornbread as a side with our BBQ* chicken tonight. I have one who vetoed cornbread, so I had to satisfy my craving with a broccoli casserole. This one was quite good. To make it a tad healthier, I doubled the broccoli and kept all the other msmst the same. Personal preference, I used cream of celery instead of cream of chicken, and greek yogurt. I rarely make BBQ so did not have my own sauce recipe. Oh yeah! They are exceptionally flavorful and creamy to be such tiny little things. I hear the calories and fat are through the roof on them. Didn't stop me from eating them a few times though. I 'think' they still sell them at our mall, but I hardly ever shop there, so can't be sure. I'm sorry you brought his up. You should be ashamed. Now I'm gonna start craving them. LOL

They have them at the grocery store now - not the DD brand - but a couple of different brands. Pretty good as long as they are really fresh.

We don't have them in this part of Ca but Steph had them shipped in for Grants birthday last year.

They have a stand set up at various functions around our area. I think they are way over-rated for the price. Will let my grandson buy the small size only!!

After hearing about them for a very long time, I finally tried it at the county fair last summer. Hated it. I love chunks and nuts and other goodies in my ice cream but the "dots" just felt like eating sand to me.

But hey, if DD keeps the other food lines at the fair short, I'm good with it. LOL
