So that accounts for all Long Islanders that I know of, except for Donn. And I hate to say it, but if he is on a canal in Amityville, it is very likely that he's got his hands full with a total mess. My brother (same location)had 5.5 feet of water in the house (ground floor/only floor - a ranch)and it is a total loss. He spent the week this week dragging out furniture over runined floors and prying drawers on dressers/nighttables/cabinets open with a crow bar because the wood structures had swelled and tightened, keeping the contents hostage. When he got to the the contents - everything absolutely ruined. Papers, pictures, a 20 year collection of video tapes of family events. Every piece of furniture, every appliance, most all clothing except for things on the highest closet shelves. He has insurance and FEMA may help, but anyone who has ever gone through an emergency that called for insurance knows that it just won't cover everything. For instance, his outdoor hot tub is neither a household "content" or "structure" (thousands to replace) and all the landscaping around the property too. He is VERY lucky that our Mom still lives in the too big for her family home. He's moved back in there with wife, dog and busniess (he works from home) they all get along well, which is good, becasue he is saying he will probably have to rebuild entirely and that will take some time.

OA. my oldest grandson loved Goosebumps and at a young age. At one time we had all the DVD's and he would watch them daily when I took care of him. He was about 4 years old & loved them, to me some of them are very scary, but not to him. By the way, he's 14 now & very well adjusted, so don't worry about your grandchild! LOL LOL Now my youngest grandson, who is 8 now, it totally into Rambo & anything army & totally scary movies. Stephen King movies, most that I will not even watch. Now him, we worry about!!!!!!! Almost forgot to comment on your talbe, it is sooooooo cute, the colors & the ornaments in the tree, it's all really darling. AND, your black & white & yellow table is also really pretty!!!

Dlm I think it would be a little difficult to make that determination wouldn't it? I would be offended if I was buying baby formula in my painting gear (dh says I look like a homeless painter) and was approached with an offer of a discount on xyz because I was looking a bit down trodden. One of the reasons I shop there is because in both states we live in they are very active in supporting the folks in need in our community. But I'd really feel supported today if I had that parking space! It's pouring and I'm out of formula again! Come to think of it....they never have enough formula (I don't like to buy all twelve cans on the shelf because I worry about that one other desperate mom out there who might need it as much as we do). I think I'm gonna actually call bob lol. Maybe they could carry extra of my kind :). (and move it off the floor lol....maybe that's asking too much).

I DO love the birthday groups and the lotto blocks. The first year in a birthday group I used my blocks to make a Linus Project quilt that ended up getting me a free pass to Disney World for a day. Better yet, I hope it brought comfort and joy to a child. I know others have also used their birthday or lotto blocks for donation quilts, so even if you don't want them for yourself, there are plenty of good things to do with them! Skill level doesn't matter - its just fun to participate. :~)) Kate
