So Sick of 'Up-selling'. It's *Everywhere*.

This morning I called to make an appointment for a blood test for my DH. Our *wonderful* medical practice has been sold to one of the big hospital conglomerates. The change-over was April 1.

The phone was answered by a 60-second robotic message. Actually, there were two separate messages. The first told me what a wonderful hospital this one is. The second reminded the caller not to be 'shy' about asking for help with 'pelvic problems'. UURRGGG.

I just want to make the appointment, OK? Stop trying to generate more business!

I don't even want to know how this change is going to play out. One of the best things about the practice was the office staff, and we could always count on getting a call-back from our MD or his nurse within the same business day -- with useful information, not just a there-there call.
