Hello; I have sliding glass doors on my deck. I used the 4'X6' door glass. I set them between the posts so it is 4' high and 6' between the posts. I made the posts the same height as the glass and ran a top rail across the posts. I have a daycare, so I set the bottom of the glass on the deck. I framed around them with 2X2's to keep the glass from moving. All together I have 13 panels. When I redid my deck, there was no problem under the glass where it was on the deck. It had lasted 10 years with the glass like that. The reason I redid my deck was that I made it bigger. The kids color on the panels and rub dirty hands on them. I just hose the panels off. I got all of the panels free, except one. I found some in the adds and I got some from a window company that had replaced some with the vinyl doors. I had to have one custom made. Still it was cheap. Niagra, I will look into the trimscrew.com site. I think I have found a Glass Baluster with Aluminum railing distributer here in Michigan. WWW.deckimages.com. Depending on price, I may go with them. I really like the thought of smaller pieces of glass (glass balusters) rather than the large plate glass panels because if one should break it won't be as much of a money loss.

Local Glass shop should be able to help.

First find out if either is to code where you live. I actually much prefer a glass and metal rail system to cable but that is just me.
