that has been sent but not opened by the receipient????

I am sure someone told me you could do this but I have forgotten.

As far as I know, only if you AND the recipient are on AOL.

No there is no way to take it out of the recipients e-mail box. Once sent an e-mail is sent. There is no way to take it back. That is a reason we say "Think before you hit that send key!".
If you just want a copy of what you sent then you have a sent file and if it is activated you can bring up a copy of what you have sent.

Yeah, but what if I don't want to talk to any of you? ;~) Anyway, I dumped most of the info from my member page over to my Flickr account. I almost always have it open and reload frequently. There were too many places to have to update constantly. I hardly check my email! Of course when I don't, I always get something interesting. Since I upgraded my Yahoo account, I should see if I can get another address as well. Scott

I sent a reply, but got an auto-response about spam. First thing to try, as you plan, is to kill / reset the power, see if the dead drawer recovers. I'd recommend disconnect about 30 seconds to a minute. The two drawers are fed power via a chassis "mains" board located on the floor of the cabinet (it also has the flood sensor and sends power to the four lid motors). The mains board has connectors for wiring harnesses coming from the controllers on the two drawers. I suppose it's possible the mains board could fail in a way that only one drawer goes dead ... otherwise one dead drawer indicates a bad controller board on that drawer. The usual recommendation for troubleshooting is swap the controller boards between the two drawers to see if the "deadness" follows the boards. I don't recall running across mention of it ... but I just now had an idea that swapping the upper / lower controller connector positions on the mains board (assuming the connector plugs are identical) might be a way to check if the mains board is the fault. If it is in your case, the lower drawer would go dead and the upper would work. I suppose if the upper/lower condition didn't change, then that would indicate the respective drawer board is the problem. Swapping the drawer boards requires removing the front panels and, of course, physically removing and moving the boards. Access to the mains board is by pulling out the lower drawer. If you feel up to trying either procedure, I can give you some instruction and also send a service manual (although I don't suppose you'd be able to receive it past the spam blocking).

I don't use TB, but I believe -- at least it used to be the case -- that one needed to 'compact' folders frequently in order to keep TB working well. Perhaps after deleting so many messages you need to be sure to compact the inbox folder. But you might want to double-check this info before you do anything irreversible.

Oh, I laughed out loud. I swear I've gotten every e-mail mentioned. One day I flushed the toilet while in a short nightgown, and I felt a drop of water hit my leg. So I did throw away my toothbrush and I always have a cover on it now (not the one I threw away! a new one). Thanks for posting this, it made my night. (Oh, and I had my hand on the mouse, too.)

If you have the recipients password, you could go onto the webmail login to their account and delete it. Otherwise go on their computer and delete it before they see it, or of course a trusted accomplice. You never specified a legal way of doing this.

Not much different than all the comedies written about dropping a letter into the mailbox and wanting to get it back. Once you pull the rope, you can't unring the bell.

You can "recall" a message that hasn't been opened by the recipient if you and the recipient are both on the same corporate e-mail network and the ability to recall messages has been activated by the mail administrator.

Having said that, however, it's not always a "hidden recall." For example, if you work someplace that uses Microsoft Exchange servers with Microsoft Outlook as the e-mail client, you can recall a message if the recipient hasn't opened it, BUT the recipient gets another e-mail that states in the subject line that you want to recall the message, and they have to click on it (the recall notice) to allow it to retract the original message. Oftentimes, the recipient will become curious as to why you want to recall the message, so they'll open the original message to read it (before clicking on the recall notice). Then it cannot be recalled.

I fondly remember the days when we used WordPerfect Office for DOS, with WordPerfect e-mail. It allowed you to see if a message had been opened by the recipient; and if it hadn't, you could recall it without the recipient ever knowing that you'd sent a message... The good old days!
