Front Porch Column/Railing Colors

Hi all!

Lurker mostly but are about 2 months into building new home. We are bricking the home with a beige-toned brick and will have Sandstone colored windows, gables (Hardiboard) and garage doors. Looking for something either vinyl or aluminum for the front porch in a dark brown (eg, chocolate) color, but am having zero luck. Local supply shop can get Khaki as the darkest color and it is lighter than the Sandstone.

Any links or recommendations? Shingles and front door will also be darker for contrast...

Check out the Premier line of vinyl rails, composatron.com, they have several colors to choose from. Austin Wholesale sells & ships it all over the usa if you can't find it local. They have some on a display deck that's at least five years old now, still looks brand new.

I don't imagine that you need a railing for code, but one would be nice. I would cover the posts in white and have a white railing. Some simple plantings along the foundation. This is interesting. I like this one and the style of the porch skirting.

Trying to maintain the simple lines of the existing structure. Remove gable and use same roof material everywhere. New roof extends to existing ridge. Columns smaller. Remove additions around garage door. You could paint the porch posts the same color as your siding color and paint/leave the railings white ... but perhaps paint the posts at the bottom of the steps the same color as the porch.

You can also look into Dow Symmatrix decking and railing. They have 4 colors, and it should cost about the same as the plain white rail
