Why do I talk so loud on the phone? I need help.

It's been brought to my attention several times by different family members that when I'm on the phone I speak much louder than normal. I have read that many people speak louder on a cell phone and it's usually inadvertent - it happens because the sound on the cell phone is of such a different quality that many people automatically talk louder. My hearing appears to be normal, I have no problems hearing others or listening to the tv or radio. I've even put a little post it by the phone as a reminder to watch my volume. This has only been happening for the last year or so.

Does anyone else have this problem? or better yet a solution? I wonder if it's an age thing.
