ABSOLUTELY! ITS AN ENZYME IN FRESH PINEAPPLE! COMBINED WITH BROWN SUGAR AND REAL BUTTER ITS THE PERFECT STORM TO DIGEST A HAM.we thought someone put cheese in the meat or it was bad..but it was just digesting in enzymes God it was awful.thank goodness I had more in the fridge.I. put pineapple and brown sugar no butter and took it with us we ate it within the hour so no problems.I should have known better because I use pineapple and strawberries for digestion and pineapple is an awesome anti inflammatory.

I have a tiny vintage tv in the kitchen pantry run and often have the two cooking/food networks on for background noise....zip back and forth between the two as some are 'nails on chalkboard'. CooksIllustrated tasted hams yesterday and I think Cook's won by a landslide. Barely paying attention because I thought testing only three was not a good and fair test. They did test without heating and glazing. (I think it was Cook's brand. It was a clear package) I just checked and they have tested a few times but I don't have access to their site.. Then looked for other 'best' reviews. Many winners. Then found my method posted above and it is a JuliaChild recipe I'm sure where I first came upon it....simmering in aromatics. I used Kirkland because it jumped in my cart passing by.

In answer to the drugs question, yes. My drug of choice in summer is a really nice inexpensive Torrontes from Argentina, $8.99 in the wine department at the Kroger grocery store. In answer to your paint color question, to give the room a more masculine air, set it apart from the rest of your house (a real psychological advantage for a husband's lair), work with your creamy trim color, make that wonderful poster stand out, and reduce the perception of yellow in your oak furniture (and by the bye, painting the furniture would be a gargantuan effort compared with just repainting the walls), choose a rich golden brown. There's "Richmond Gold" (HC-41) from the BMoore Historical group...or Sherwin Williams "Chamois" (SW6131) or "Bosc Pear" (SW6390). There are a couple of the Affinity colors in the BMoore Aura line, too, but I don't have the chips at hand. (I like those because they actually can cover in one coat.) The sheers would soften it, and the warm colors and white linens and black iron and pottery and basketry of traditional French country design would work with it. The blues in the poster will jump out on that background, which will warm your husband's heart. (My DH says that no American man of any age has anything he first chose for himself, because whatever his first wife didn't take, his second wife pitched out..)

Thanks for all the opinions!! We're having T-Day dinner at my mom and dad's.....they live in an assisted living place, we will have access to their private dining room. Problem is, we will only have microwaves for reheating. No stove. So, we're kind of limited. My dad just got out of the hospital, so we don't want him to have to travel around. Figured this was easiest for my sister and I. I want something nicer than a grocery store package. Like I said, I like the ham from HBH, but have never tried anything else from there, so I am still skeptical. My cousin just told me she didn't really care for the turkey. sigh.......... Any more ideas??? LOL!!!
