The more I read, the more I am getting worried

Redoing a bathroom, and bought type L copper pipe from HD along with fittings. The fittings seem thinner then my current home which appears to be very heavy duty, almost like cast copper fittings? And then I am reading on prior posts, copper wears out over time making holes. Should I use heavy duty rated copper over the type L? Not sure of the letter rating, but supposely there are 3 types, M, L, and K heavy duty? Is K overkill for a home's bathroom. Where does one actually buy K? Is the ID smaller on type K, or are fittings to be used different? It seems that if one buys type L at Home Depot, one really needs to size up the correct fittings too, or that becomes the weak point? Is this a correct statement?
