French Style Buffet I found on Craig's List

I found a buffet on CL that I'm somewhat considering buying. The seller does not know what kind of wood it is. What do you all think? I'm thinking it's probably natural cherry, as it looks similar to antique buffets made of cherrywood that I've seen online from France. Here is the link to the CL ad:

Also, what are your thoughts on the quality of this piece? I'm stumped and don't know what to think. The seller does not know anything about the manufacturer. I'd originally planned to buy the Ethan Allen buffet (linked below) that goes with the EA table and chairs we got about a year ago, but then I decided to watch Craig's list to see if I could find something similar at a bargain price (we have a pretty good CL here in the metro D.C./No. VA area). My plan is to put the buffet in my French country eat-in-kitchen/breakfast room.
