Comments (5)I refurbished our gunite a year ago. I believe it was about $20 a bag at Adcock. There is a light blue that is only a couple of dollars more than the white. Ask the prices. I maybe can get you the name off a remaining bag of plaster. Our pool is also 35,000 and material and labor was less then $2000, because I worked alongside mixing plaster and pouring....See MoreExiting Pool, plaster and other potential issues
Comments (5)The height change is because there are two distinct deck surfaces, one on top of the other. Like you said, its gone. The coping is toast but can be replaced. This often gets you some chipped tile. The finish is a delaminating Diamond Brite. It will need removal and replacement with a new plastering finish, whatever finish you choose, be it plaster, colored plaster, and the varying levels of higher aggregate finishes that are available. Given the coping and plaster are toast, I would strongly urge the tile go too. The shell seems OK. Is there copper plumbing? If so, replace it. Since the deck is going, adding a bond wire to the shell, light, ladder cups, and equipment pad should be done. In terms of work, it's not that big a cost. What equipment is there for the pump and filter? Scott...See MoreNew underground pool plaster question
Comments (1)Plaster maximum thickness should be no more than 1". Most plaster thicknesses when applied are 1/2"-3/4" . The SURFACE must be at least 50 degrees when the plaster is applied. I recommend, and we always do, have water trucked in to fill the pool as quickly as possible. Water is part of the curing process for plaster. It's especially important to fill quickly on a hot day as there is a concern the plaster will "flash" and dry too quickly in the sun. Some cracks or crazing may occur. You PB should have considered the material thicknesses prior to shooting the pool so the shot crew could be directed as to heights in areas where the stone was to be placed....See MoreLinda Maddoux
