Pebble Sheen color Golden Pearl? Groundwater seeping in too.

We just had our new pool finished with what we think is Desert Gold Pebble Sheen. The bags that were used say Pebble Sheen "Golden Pearl". I haven't found anything on the Pebbletec website or in these forums that talk about a color "Golden Pearl". The pool also hasn't been acid washed yet. Color looks like what we wanted so far, I just didn't know if anybody here has heard of it or not.

My other concern is that we've been plagued with groundwater throughout the entire build process. The pump that has been running for days...weeks has never removed all of the water from the shell. Just before the Pebbletec went in today, they were able to remove most of the water from the bottom. Now this evening there is probably 6 inches of water that has seeped/weeped in through the Pebbletec with the pump still running. There are also a few wet spots here and there. I read a couple of posts that indicate the surface takes approximately 30 days to cure underwater. I'm just concerned with leaks.

None the less I will post pictures, since there aren't many of the Desert Gold Pebble Sheen. My wife and I spent many nights laying in bed changing our minds on the color/texture of the surface.

Oh please do post pictures! We are dying to see it. Maybe PT renamed the color recently? I would call them directly and ask what it is....

Pebble Sheen has been acid washed and the pool has been filled. We love the color, it is exactly what we were looking for. Hope you enjoy

Hi - I live in San Antonio, TX. my pool is being constructed now. We have a big choice to make with the pool finish and are waffling horribly. Our contractor told us that they have a special right now and we can get CL Industries Sunstone Pearl White Pearl finish for only $500. That is the only color. I guess it's on clearance. Any other color would be another $2400. We initially were thinking of grey plaster. We have huge live oak and post oak trees in our back yard. The more research I've done on here and talking with people in our area, I think the pebble finish is a better choice. The problem is that my husband doesn't like the color white. He thinks it looks like a community pool. Other people here say their plaster has stained from the oak tree leaves and hasn't held up well. I don't want to spend another $2400. Any additional thoughts from the gallery? p.s. We are using Arizona flagstone and then a golden sand color cool deck with a texture. You guys rock!

Mine is getting filled as we speak and the area will continue to be a work in progress with an Ivory travertine patio floor down the road. This is a modest existing pool remodel. We took out the silly spa with its four puny jets, odd size, and no light and made it into a conversation niche. In the before design you couldn’t heat up the spa without heating up the entire pool. Surface- Wet Edge New Zealand Tropical- peal matrix but with the deeper blue/green dye used in the Chilean Tahoe. The last picture with spa and orange coping is the Before .

I'll bring some drama to P's... Prince of Darkness. Very thick pointed leaves, dark green edge, apple-green centre. Handsome bad guy... Prairie Moon. It's not gold or yellow. The leaves are powedered with white, so the colour glows somehow. The name perfectly describes the hosta. I'll keep it with Blue Tooth and L. Dragonfly.

Didn't read this post first before commenting above. . . but Golden Pearl is the name of a CLI Industries product called CrystalStones Natural, however, that is a larger pebble, not a sheen (smaller pebble) so I don't know. Many companies use the same names for colors. If you still have the actual bags (as their's is a premixed product) you could check for the manufacturer. It looks great in any case. I would like to know as I am thinking of using a larger pebble product and want to know if it feels too rough. Maybe it just due to the close up but I thought your finish was a larger pebble not the smaller sheen type product.

I found out that it is Desert Gold Pebble Sheen. Thee feel is smooth, only a slight texture.

Rich, You did a great job on the glass tiles! Your pool looks nice.

Make sure you watch for the water traveling horizontally on the stacked stone. Your pool builder may need to make some adjustments, I looked on your Photobucket gallery and noticed you may have some issues with your spa spillover. It looks like you may be getting some water from your spillover onto your deck.

Golden pearl is one of the stone mixes Pebble Tec/Sheen uses in some of their colors including Pebble Sheen - Desert Gold. you most likely have Pebble Sheen. However, everyone must be careful! Many builders in out area (I am sure others too) are cutting corners due to market conditions. Always make sure your getting what you paid for!

Thanks Bella. Yeah they are supposed to come out next week and adjust the stacked stone. The water is traveling horizontally at the spa and the staked water feature in the back.
