that during the 7 game playoffs the teams always go the 7 games. You never see 4-1, or 4-2, or 4-0, they always manage to have to play the 7 games. I really think these games are fixed because of the money they haul in.
... and they have playdowns to weed out the inferior performers.

If you want to get incensed about something ...
... how about the rules that allow the goon players to smash the heads of the good ones, giving them a concussion ... and after a few of them - they're out of the game for good.
Here's an idea ...
... suppose they do some research to find a machine than can administer a concussion without causing other deleterious effects.
Then count the number of persons sitting on the Board of Governors of the National Hockey League, plus the head honcho, plus all of the owners of the various teams ... plus the aforementioned Don Cherry (television performer).
Then count that many ping-pong bals, paint, say, 5 - 10% of them brown, green, purple, black, or whatever colour you choose.
Put all of the balls into a large urn in a benighted room, then blindfold the various people and lead them into the room, one at a time, to pick out one of the balls.
If they pick a coloured one - they visit the concussion machine!
One doubts whether the goons administering concussions would persist long, following such an exercise.
