do you want something square or round, like a half barrel? A half barrel would fit that description. Lowes, Kmart, all have those. Home Depot here (Knoxville, TN) sells containers that are the size of half barrels and look like half barrels but are fiberglass. Much lighter and terminte won't munch on them. I've seen some planters made from huge clay sewer pipes. No idea where you would get them though.

Sounds like ancient GreekÂ curious to know why the inventor called it that. Now that I have a name, I google searched last night for some in a border or frieze format. The only one I really liked wasÂ$225 a roll (!) . I did not see much elseÂanyone know of a good source? Love the ones in the pictures above. Might be too grand or too large a scale for my 13 x 12 dining room. IÂm looking for something classical for a formal dining room. Jacobean revival dining room set in walnut, a warm medium brown. I currently have a 7" border running around the middle of the room and framing the very large doorway opening into the foyer. I would like to use this in place of the border, then install a chair rail below. Probably paint the anaglypta and chair rail a golden cream, windows matching color, and then glaze it with a color that goes with the paint on the lower half of the walls, a deep blue green. Not sure what to do about the big doorway and a smaller one into the kitchen. Frame them? Do you frame a doorway that has no door? No clue. ItÂs the biggest design issue. ajsmama, I am still working on the LR/music room. I am placing the accessories gradually. Some things will have to wait for spring. I want to have everything ready to roll in the dining room. If my husband suddenly says, "letÂs do it now" I need to be ready. When he is ready he wants to go straight through to the end. If I am missing something (the right screw, the right brush, even a minor decision) nothing will start. He hates disruption: it needs to be as brief as possible.
