New build Natural Style Pool NJ with East Coast Pool Concpets
Comments (32)jhmjr, Sorry for the delayed response. I actually made a completely different thread for the final product. Here are the pics and a youtube video for you: We opened up the Pool June 24th, and thouroughly enjoyed the pool the entire summer. East Coast Pool Concepts out of Manalapan NJ did an incredible job from start to finish. I would HIGHLY recommend them for anyone considering a pool in NJ/NY/PA area. I cannot say enough about the quality job these guys did, the attention to detail, and the follow up. Even after the job was done, and I finished my payments, they were still checking up with me and stopping by to make sure all was going well. They build a great pool, they are great to work with and they stand by their work. Here is a youtube video of our pool: Natural Style Pool CNJ by East Coast Pool Concepts Here are the completed pics of our pool: Here is the before pic:...See MoreFiberglass pool companies in NJ
Comments (3)Hi, you didn't mention where you are located in NJ. I am in northern NJ and spent quite a bit of time looking into fiberglass pools. By the way -- I am now planning a gunite build. If you are already looking into fiberglass, then you probably have the type of situation that is suitable for this type of pool--I hope. However, I just want to point out a few things for you to consider. There is a big difference depending on if you live where there is extreme freezing/thawing of the ground. Most fiberglass pool companies have it hidden somewhere in their warranty --make sure you request it during your shopping process -- about installing 3 feet of concrete completely around the perimeter and on top of the bond beam otherwise it voids the pool warranty. This is because these pools can pop-up under certain conditions. This is fine if this is what you want decking wise, but I know someone who was sold a fiberglass pool by a major dealer for a national company who did not have this information revealed ahead of time. The person had planned on using natural stone coping and paver decking. The concrete decking was left off her contract at her request for asthetic reasons and the PB said nothing, I guess to make the pool sale. Sadly, I was the one who had to inform her when I came to see the progress of her pool installation as I was doing my shopping at the time. There is at least one manufacturer I know of who designs the bond beam differently so this is not an issue in their case. Also, there are tremendous differences in the quality of the various fiberglass manufacturers and I had gotten core samples (bits of where they drill to plumb) to compare for myself. Look at the way it's constructed, the thickness of the fiberglass, the thickness of the top coat/color finish. Then, there are companies that have a national (or even worldwide) market presence and other companies who build locally and get a piece of their regional market primarily. The price may have more to do with how far you live from the factory where the pool is actually manufacturered than just the quality. Today, with shipping costs this can be a big factor. Then, there are differences in the optional finishes to consider . . . how long are the warranties on these? I think a fiberglass pool is a very good option for certain situations, however, the size and shape limitations was one of the biggest reasons I reconsidered in my case. I found a quality product I liked, but their pool sizes were just too small relative to my yard size and what is customary for our neighborhood. Overall, it was not the right product or value for me in my present situation, but I wouldn't rule it out for another time, place and future home. Good luck and don't be intimidated when asking for the information you need to make a good decision on price vs. quality so you get the value appropriate for your needs and budget....See MorePlease recommend a pool safety cover company in Central NJ
Comments (4)poolsafetyssystems seems to want $75 just to quote you on the cover. They refund it if you use them but that makes getting competative bids inefficient. I am trying have been trying to get quotes for a cover for the last 5 weeks since I got my new pool and it has been an exercise in frsutration. The industry here is so flaky. The pool builder quoted promptly and has followed-up but I was warned they are at least $1K higher than average (by an employee of the company no less). I have followed-up three times with the comapny that opened and serviced the pool and they keep promising quotes then never doing them. I have called two other local places and they have not followed-up either. It's like no one wants the business or assumes the PB is going to get it....See MoreSwim-mor from Central NJ?
Comments (3)I used them last year. They were also lower than another central NJ builder, and had been building gunite for much longer. The workers were all business - efficient and hard working, and did their jobs well. I built in the fall and the weather cooperated, so the process went very quickly. I did not use them for the decking, and supplied my own coping to match the pavers that the landscapers were installing for the deck (I believe they use EP Henry and I opted to use another paver). There were only two very minor items that I wish were a little different, but not even worth mentioning. Overall I was very happy I selected them. After seeing mine done, an acquaintance who had built pools before also opted to use Swim-mor for a new home he was building....See Moreeriky
