A great book...........

I just finished one of the best "feel good" books I have read in a long time. I thought wow I haven't cried over a book in a while (could be cuz I had been reading killing evil ones huh?) Anyways I have never read this author but the title and book cover caught my eye. It is by Kate Jacobs and called "The Friday Night Knitting Club."

love a good book recommendation, thanks for this one stacy. i'll have to see if my library has it.

i just finish The Glass Castle. very interesting read. it was written by jeanette wells. it's a true story of her extremely dysfunctional family. i was blown away by the story.

Thank you Shannon I absolutely LOVE reading about herbs and growing them. I just thik there is so much i nature for us if we just knew how to use it! I will ask for it for my BD since I have most of the butterfly books. I recently discovered sweet marjorum at the caladium festival and everyone enjoys sniffing it and rubbing it on their pulsepoint.

I saw her book when I was at Nancy's Flower Camp in October. www.flowercamp.org The book is gorgeous - she spoke about how amazing some of these trees are.

Vermicrobe? Is that an Australian company? If you arc considering worm farming then just buy a book called "worm farm management" by Eric Wilson. It is out of print these days but you can still get copies easy enough. Vermicrobe sell a system for up to $80 000. It is a workable system no doubt but if you read this book you get all the info for probably $50.00 or less and would then be able to build the very same system for around $10000. Any further training is easy enough to get from Soil Food Web.

Abundant blessings, thank you for the other recommendations. I will definitely read Destined to Witness. Deedee- I crave simple, feel good stories so thanks! Carriem, Will look for art of racing, I have read the Outlander and Clan books....but I think I'm too old for bodice rippers (or is it pelts?) anymore. I've become a cynical, jaded romantic. I really liked Major Pettigrew's Last Stand- that's my kind of romance these days. Oakly, I like Jeffery Archer too but haven't read any in a long time. I did listen to some of his recent works last year though and liked the one about the newspaper publishers. Hhireno, It has only been a few years since I read for the first time(listened actually) To a Tree Grows In Brooklyn. It was good but also sad though I'm finally glad I know it now as it's classic. I don't do sad books often..it's just too hard. Will put your others on my list. Iread, I have heard about the Piano Tuner, thanks for the reminder. I have read Shadow of the Wind but am the only person on the planet who didn't like it. Will look for the others! Thanks! Yogacat, I have read Suite-FranÃÂ§aise when it was hot a year or so ago. It was interesting and of course, sad.

Thanks for the info. I will add it to my collection for sure. I read The Glass Castle about a month ago. What a wonderful book - so sad but so redeeming in the end. Everyone should read this. It stayed with me for at least a week after I finished it.

Stacy, is the author Kate Jacobs or Kristin Hannah? It sounds good, as does The Glass Castle.

Thanks for the review of The Friday Night Knitting Club. I had thought I might enjoy it as I love to read female friendship stories. (I am so close to my friends!) I had heard mixed reviews about this book. Some like it and others don't. I do think I'll try it. Another good book along that line is The Persian Pickle Club. Can't remember the author.

I read The Glass Castle a year or so ago. It was interesting!

I am sorry the author is Kate Jacobs that was a thing on the front cover describing it by the other author.....No way a movie coming out of it and I love Julia Roberts I will try the link if that doesn't work will try my handat google (which I never seem to get to work for me LOL) Stacy

you may need to do another search, they don't give to many details
