Canadian lighting suppliers?

Hi - I'm new to the forum but have been lurking (drooling) for the past month or so over all of your beautiful kitchens! I'm just finalizing our kitchen plans with our KD. We're in a farmhouse in the country so our style is sort of traditional/casual/cottage. I have spent the past couple of days trying to find a good lighting supplier, specifically for the pendant lights that will hang over our island. Any other Canadians out there who can suggest a website with somewhat reasonable prices? The closest large city is about 2 hours away, so I pretty much order everything online. Thanks I look forward to posting some pics soon...(you don't want to see the gutted state of things now, right?)

Universal Lamp on Cartwright Ave in Toronto comes to mind. They carry a large range and have an 800 number or you could try an Email.

Thanks - that was exactly what I was looking for - they've got a website with links to their suppliers including Kichler, which is exactly what I was looking for! Love this forum!

Hi there, Thanks for getting back to us. We went to the 2nd annual Garlic fest and it was good, a little far so not sure if we will make it this year. I have had a couple responses from messages from other garlic farmers, so if something pans out to have more than we need I will give you a heads up in case you want some. Valleybrook Gardens, the source for Heritage Perennials, is a Canadian wholesaler supplying retail nurseries. They have a rather extensive inventory of hellebores. Hi Mrs. Monkey -

Don't know if you are interested in vintage/architectural salvage type stuff. Legacy Vintage in Cobourg ON has a great site and but even better a "Resources and Links" section to other retailers, many of whom have web sites. See the link below.

One of the retailers linked is Turn of the Century Lighting, which is where Redroze got her island pendants. If you search her name on this forum I'm sure you can find a link with photos of her almost done kitchen and her island pendants.

Also check out Royal Lighting http://www.royallighting.com/ - they have a huge selection.

I second Universal. We ordered a fixture through them.

We also bought a piece from Crystal Design on the same street. They are the best-priced chandelier resource in Ontario.

I have had good luck with Royal Lighting in Toronto (great website), and with Union Lighting (also in Toronto) who also have a good website.
