Yes..but probably not in the way you're thinking! I've pondered this question many times. *S* I DO love my children unconditionally...meaning that no matter what they do, I LOVE them, but I may not always LIKE them. Loving them does NOT mean I would tolerate with UN-acceptable behavior!

The short answer is yes, especially for my children. But don't mistake "unconditional love" for "I'll always do whatever makes you happy no matter what." Unconditional love means the feeling and the show of love, not that I'll be their co-dependent if they start down a path of unhealty choices. If need be, it might be tough love.

There are a few other people in my life for whom I think my love is unconditional, but not at the level as what I feel for my kids. I guess 99% is still conditional, huh? So maybe they are 100%, but my kids are 110%. LOL

Do you believe some houses have bad energy?
Q

It's been a year since we moved into our house, and I do believe that there was bad energy in it at the beginning. After I posted here, I read more and decided to do some things to turn the energy around and it seems it worked! I think a big part of it was just working on my inner energy and bringing this up with my partner. He's not the type of person who would believe in bad energy and haunted places, but he agreed that something was off here and that we should try to do something about it. It can't hurt, right? I cleaned the whole house very thoroughly, and while I was doing it, I was repeating my intentions and good thoughts about the house and the life we want to build here. I also repainted some walls and added a few details that bring good memories. Then I bought sage and went through all rooms and corners to clear the air. It also helped when I added a few green plants that should clear the air. I think that adding something alive to the space helps, too. This was a newly built house and I don't think it was as bad as it could be with the houses that are here for generations and accumulating a lot of energy (good and bad), so that's why I think these small things we did, helped us to live happier here. I started to believe that places have energy when I was driving through Poland a few years ago and not even knowing where exactly I was, I started to feel that something is wrong and dangerous. We were actually passing by Auschwitz which we realized after a few minutes of that "feeling"... Maybe I'm the one who's more sensitive to this, but I believe that we all have some sort of antenna for these kinds of things, someone recognizes it, someone denies it.

A family of fine people who many would say were the salt of the earth that I knew a number of years ago had suffered a number of very trying circumstances - son in law killed in a train hitting car, a daughter with very severe ongoing disabling illness who died rather young, another daughter who died young, leaving small child and their barn burned shortly after I arrived in the community. A number of people said that there was no way in which they deserved such a series of painful situations, such suffering. That it seemed not at all fair. Perhaps much of the time it appears that many "get what they deserve", in our judgement ... but it seems to me that in many cases there are those who don't. In any case, it seems to me that I should live a decent, honest, trustworthy life, treating my fellow travellers on the journey of life as I'd like to be treated ... whether there's a payoff or not. Plus ... I think I heard on the radio the other night that there are something like 73 million refugees in the world these days, who have nothing. Do you think that they're getting what they deserve? The leaders of the Russians and of the U.S. agreed to have the Russians have a sphere of influence in North Korea, after World War II, and the U,.S. have influence in the south. During the Korean war, hundreds of thousands of Korean familes were split up ... it wasn't their fault, it was world politics, the machinations of the world powers, that did that. Did those Korean refugees get what they deserved? How about the 800,000 or so Rwandans that were slaughtred by a different tribe in about 100 days, about 15 years ago? And when the leader of the U.N. peacekeeping contingent, seeing it coming, asked for about 5,000 soldiers to keep it from happening, what response did he get? Nothing. Later, many of us said, "Never again"! But the same game has been going on in the southern Sudan for several years, and the rest of the world has done little to try to stop it. Same with the Central African Republic. Does anyone have any idea how many Iraqis have died/been killed in the past 5 years or so? It seems to me that it's easy for us, who live in relative peace, comfort, prosperity and security, to talk. ole joyful P.S. What have I done that makes someone feel that recent (really rather inconsequential) personal difficulties are deserved? As I have said on earlier occasions, if I have said things here which have caused someone personal discomfort or pain, it certainly was not intended, and I would like to know of it, and ask that any of you who may know of it let me know, that I may take what action may be necessary to get the issue resolved. o j

Yes, our "angry Indian" was actually seen very clearly by a number of different people over the years, although never by me. We finally decided to have a threesome of well-respected ghostbusters (my term, not theirs) come out here and try to get him to leave. One gentleman actually talked with him, mentally, and told me that he had been murdered in the area where our guest room is now, hence his anger. This area was never anything but Native American, and later Spanish settlers' hunting grounds, until we built our home here. Thank goodness he finally did leave, as our guest room had become very unpopular. These days, it's also my own personal study, and I've never had any feeling that he's still around.

Love is always on condition, so there's no such thing as unconditional love. Even our children, we love them because they were born to us. We fall in love with other people because of the way they affect our senses - from the way they look, the things they say, and the way they smell as far as the opposite sex is concerned. After all those, love can be destroyed. It takes different things in different cases to destroy love, but it isn't as though love is indestructible. It might take a lot of hurt, pain, or downright disgust, but it can and does happen in all cases. Because one woman loves a man no matter he does doesn't mean there is no woman who ever fallen out of love with a man. And such the same that there are and always have been men who fall out of love with a woman. Because one parent loves their child no matter what the child does doesn't mean there is no parent who got fed up and doesn't care anymore.

I don't really believe in it for romantic relationships, but I do for parental love.

Theoretically, I could get fed up and never talk to my child again, and I certainly would never condone bad behavior, but I think I would always love them no matter what. Even if they murdered someone or tried to kill me, I would still love them. Although, I do realize that not all parents have unconditional love for their children.

I don't think it's necessarily because my kid's were born to me because I would feel the same way if they were adopted, or if I found out they were switched at birth and weren't my kids. I think rather, the relationship of a mother to her child often 'calls' for unconditional love in order to thrive. It's almost like unconditional love from a mother to a child is a natural or innate instinct that is needed for survival.

Similarly, I do believe God has unconditional love for us, His children.

To me, love is unconditional.
Like and lust are not.
So many people confuse love and lust. One is emotional, the other is mainly hormonal. For example, many marriages that are established on romance (sexual attraction) only, often become unglued, and end up with two unhappy people who have no feelings left for each other.
There are people I love dearly, but I despise them for who and what they are and do.
I do believe you can love someone deeply and dislike things they do.

Yes for me. My Mom, grandmother, sister, best friend Rob & Jeremy and my dogs. No matter what they do, I love them completely. No question.
Oh, and even my ex. We are still friends, but if worst came to worst, would do anything for each other.
