My groomer charges $32 and I think she is the best ever. Darla (our dog) loves her. I always just give her $40. I wish I had the money to take her right now, she hasn't been there in a while as our money is tight rought now.

We have shih-tzu's and they charge $50 for both, which is good. My mom has the same breed dogs but lives in different state and she gets charged $35 each.

In upstate NY, I paid $50.00 every month for our 40 lb. cockapoo until we lost him in December. That was just for bathing, grooming and toenails; no playtime, glands, etc.

In Massachusetts I pay $41 for a 44 lb. spaniel. She only goes every three or months.

I USED to take Reilly and Axel to the groomer for their summer shave-down. This place turned out to be outrageous. I ended up paying almost $200 for both dogs to get washed and shaved.

Since then, I decided to do it myself. I just shaved them both myself this week and I think they look great. :) And, it was free. I bought the clippers for about $200 and they have paid for themselves many times over in the last 2 years. Since their fur grows back in every 2 months, I do it about 3 times a season.

Not having hair all over everything for 6 months has been a mental lifesaver, especially with a new baby on the way.

This was the first time I have ever taken Izzi to be groomed. I comb her as much as I can. She is easy to work with as I practice handling her and rubbing her feet and looking in her ears and such so she will be used to handling.

I have a ShihTzu and a ShihTzu/Maltese mix. I take Jasper,my Shihtzu in about every 3-4 months. He only gets a "full groom" at the beginning of hot weather ($30.00)and other times, he gets a "Tight and Tidy" which is a bath, and cutting/shaving the areas that need it ($20.00) He never gets mats and I never brush him. Even the Groomer has commented on how nice is hair is. Abby, the ShihTzu/Maltese goes in about every 3 months and always gets a "Tight and Tidy" and poofed! I don't want her trimmed down or shaved. Her backside tends to mat, but I bought a comb that cuts through and removes most of those.

My groomer charges $54 for bath,nails,ears, butt shaving and complete removal of all matts. If I wanted her sedated or a flea dip, that's extra. He even sprays her mouth

I pay $45 for my Border Collie, which includes summer cut (3 times a year) and bath, nails, anal gland, ear cleaning. If he gets flea treatment (I used to get this 1 time a year), it's an additional $15 - don't get the flea treatment anymore.

For basic flea treatment, my dog gets garlic powder sprinkled on all his food - no more flea problems.

I can't remember what we paid a groomer for our first Westie -- 44 years ago. Now we pay $44 + tip for bath, trim, ears, toenails, glands. They'll brush his teeth for a little more! LOL He goes 4-5 times a year. We brush him a couple times a week. We've never shown our dogs, so none was 'stripped'. (Undercoat is pulled out, leaving only the hard topcoat.) That's long, hard work!

WOW!! Ya'll have great prices...course the collies are about 100 times larger and more maintenance so we do it ourselves...I think it would probably cost 70-100 for each of them...DH brushes them everyday...cuts their nails...trims the paws, brushes their teeth and is generally the groomer...I'm doing it this week since he's gone...they don't like my grooming abilities...LOL...but they love the treats I have in my pockets..

We have a 22 lb. American Eskimo - who does not blow his coat - just manages to leave hair on our clothes and the usual tumbleweeds. We live in Central Toronto - so think expensive for all vet and grooming care. It costs either $57 or $67 to have our dog groomed. I did question the $67 and they said he had a lot of matted hair that day. He is done about every 3 months. We do brush him - we have bathed him on occasion, but won't use a blow dryer on him - I am useless with one on my own hair - and Eskies do have very sensitive pink skin under that double coat of hair-like fur. The groomer's dryers are "cool". I was a bit mystified though to see a large English Sheep dog being charged the same as my guy. Our costs are about to go up July 1 when groomers will have to start charging our provincial tax - 8% in Ontario - on grooming services. Right now they just charge our GST. Same with gas.

Wow... $30 IS a good price. I pay $37 each for my 2 schnauzer's grooming every 6 weeks. I really need to learn to do it myself. I've tried to clip them in the past, but they ended up looking ridiculous.

I pay $35.00 for the two fuzzy dogs. I usually do the Pug myself except for nails.

I bathe and shave Caesar myself, DH does the anals every once in a while and does his nails.
I bathe him usually once a week and shave him down once or twice a month, except in winter. He doesn't have a long full coat like the peke pictures you often see so we keep him in a short cut.

... take the hair home and spread it around their favourite veggies.

Get some extra mileage for the grooming fee!

I think I pay around $35 to get Jake bathed and get his undercoat combed out. They also clean his ears and clip his nails. I gotta get him in next week.

You are supposed to tip the groomer?

You don't have to tip my groomer but she works at the vet's place so I have no idea what portion if any she gets to keep of the grooming fee.

I pay about $50 if I let our Cockapoo get quite long. I try to take him in about every 3 months and I trim him up in between. Considering the amount of work involved and the time it takes to do, I really think it's fair. I know if I do it myself, I have to do it in stages over a couple of days.

I have two standard poodles and a miniature poodle who are groomed, bathed, nails clipped, anal glands done and blown dry every 6 weeks. She charges me 40 for the big dogs and 29 for the mini, and I tip 5.00 per dog. I don't have any outrageous poodle doos on them, just longer hair on legs, body shaved close, and a top knot and tail knot.

No grooming fees here, had Beagles, both long gone now and greatly missed. I did all the bathing, slick coats but boy did they shed, trimmed toes nails even was able to clean anal glands YUCK!...

Not that you asked about cats but I just paid $23 to give my Maine Coon mix cat a sani-cut, wash and dry. She's so sweet - she purred the whole time. The groomers just love her. =^^=
