What other forums do you visit either on gardenweb or elsewhere.

What are your favorites and why.

I check out the pond forum the rose forum and decorating forum but that is it...just really to look at pics on occasion I will post something but the KT is my HOME!! Stacy

Various gardening forums - veggies, winter sowing, canadian gardening forums, garden junk, quilting - I lurk at many because my hobbies are gardening, quilting.

My other forum I'm participating in right now is the diet forum. It is a tremendous source of inspiration and support.

rouge, my comment was based on the many posts I read about plants that reseed or spread via underground roots are to be avoided as pests. This is commented on quite often here as a negative thing. Nothing other than that was intended. What is considered a good thing to some is a downside to others, thats all. Also, the majority of plants usually discussed here are hybrids created for the nursery trade type rather than wild plants and info typically discussed on a native plant forum so its just a matter of common interests, not a judgement call. My biggest gripe, if you will, is that nursery's do not carry more of the native plants I and others are interested in. Obviously I like the types of plants I'm growing, I'm not fishing for compliments or in need of affirmation, I simply like talking about natives and prairie plants and wanted to know if there are others out there who feel the same or have similar interests and wondered if we could get those two forums more active.

While I understand and agree with the effort to have this forum focus on plant trades, I notice a far greater problem--a post which has apparently been up since March 30th, openly selling a range of products. Does nobody care, or has Houzz eliminated any administrators who will delete such a post? While I wish the seller success in his/her business, this sort of thing is blatantly against the rules and can seriously damage this forum. Of course YMMV, but this is how I find the topics (forums) list from the main "Gardening in Texas" forum page. Hovering the cursor over the "Get Ideas" link at the top of the page provides this dropdown:Clicking the "Gardenweb" link highlighted in the red oval opens the main Gardenweb page (which is your personal "Your Topics" page if still logged in):Clicking the "Show All" link in the left column under "Featured Topics" (may have to scroll down to see it) expands to the full list like this: Hope this helps... it's really unfortunate basic navigation has become this obscure.

The quilting forum, sometimes the organizing forum. Also the pet forum, from time to time. Every now and then I visit some of the gardening forums.

I read Tropical, Texas Gardening, Gulf Coast Gardening and Cooking Forums. Not loyally, just when I'm looking for answers.

I enjoy quite a few of the forums here at GW, but the ones I visit the most are KT, Computer Help, Crafts and Decorating, & Embroidery. I guess that I should find a gardening forum that suits me since we have a large garden this year. Maybe I'll check out the Texas Gardening.

It's interesting how my interests have changed over the years on GardenWeb--over time I have regularly visited Roses, Grieving, Weddings, Frugal Gardening, Remodeling, etc. depending on what's going on in my life.

Outside GW, I visit socknitters.com. Also, healthboards.com is a good one for medical issues. They have a forum for almost every ache or pain anyone could have. (The Health Forum here is not very active.)

On the garden forums:

vermiculture-started a worm box
greenhouses-have a greenhouse
squarefoot gardening-do raised bed gardening
composting-have 5 working compost piles
Utah gardening-live in Utah
hydrotufa-gonna do that one of these days
clematis-want to expand my varieties
organic gardening-it's what I do
edible landscaping-want to expand the garden in different areas
The Garden Party-some interesting people there
roses-because I CAN'T GROW THEM NO MATTER WHAT
and a few others when I have questions

On the home forums:
grandparents-we are raising our grandson
x-stitch-my passion
quilting-gonna do that one day
knitting-doing that right now
home disasters-we've had a couple
and of course The Kitchen Table!!

I enjoy a photo editing/scrapbooking forum, but it doesn't move much.

A couple craft type forums and the old off shoots of this place.

I don't read any of the gardenweb or homesite forums on a steady basis, but check out a few once in awhile. Gardening in Texas, Gulf Coast Gardening, Tropicals, Aroids...

I post at the Meeting House too.

Here the Trash to Treasure, Health and Diet forums. I'll ask questions on the others when I need to.

I also sometimes post at a thyroid, Branson and a couple other forums.

A few weeks ago i joined weight watchers. They have boards on their site. I have to say that for the most part they are a group of foul mouth, ill mannered girls(mostly girls) that must live. It sickens me when they write things such as "I hate my nephew so much i would like to SPIT on him." The girl even said that he is only 7 and he is just annoying. But she would not stop talking about how badly she wants to spit on him. Most people who responded said they "know the feeling." They also all swear like a truckdriver. Some boards there are not bad. But beware before you enter.
I like it here. So i think i'll stay!

I posted the one marilyn gave some time ago, as someone wanted the URL for it. It went POOF, and disappeared. I got a message from the powers that be, that I was not abiding by the rules, in mentioning a different forum. Have they decided to let up on us????? I also go to the forum that kayjones mentioned, but I'm paranoid now!
