Diverter for body spray + shower head + handheld shower wand?
Comments (6)Hi GH, All of that water demand will, most likely require a 3/4" water line, instead of the standard 1/2" water line, be piped to the shower to deliver additional volume and pressure. Without that, you will not have good performance from using multiple sprays, regardless of the valve type or diverter option. And yes, the volume is cut in half with shared functions from a diverter, but depending on the shower heads, may still be adequate. It's a balancing act, and will depend on your water pressure from the street. For a standard 1/2" diverter, to just switch between functions, the Delta R11000 rough-in body is reasonable and good quality. Then you choose the type of trim option and a 6 function cartridge. Otherwise, if 3/4" water line is at the shower, separate volume controls will allow all the functions to flow at full blast....See MoreNo Water in Shower after shutting Cold water valve of Water heater
Comments (1)Some valve bodies have an auto shut off feature which is designed to prevent scalding. If one side has no pressure, both sides are shut off inside the valve body. Or you dislodged some huge chunk of rust and it made its way to the shower valve. I can't see from here. Try dissembling the shower valve and flushing it out....See MoreHybrid water heater and body sprays in shower
Comments (1)You will need to calculate the total gallon demand of your desired setup, and that includes other users needs during the use of the master shower. Then the individual model water heater’s production capacity and recovery time need to be calculated against that demand. In most cases, a large master with many outlets far outstrips the production capacity of a single heater setup and needs multiple water heaters. Also, body sprays become seldom if ever used past the first few initial months of use. So factor in real world usage situations into the math as well. Involve your plumber, architect, and GC now, for the best end results. ....See MoreShower Panel with Body Jets on Normal Water Heater
Comments (7)After you fix the pressure issue, maybe with adding a separate pressure tank, then you have to fix your hot water supply issue. 7.2 gallons per minute, would mean a 10 minute shower with a typical tank. But, if you had enough pressure, you'd be blasted clean in that 10 minutes! But no one after you would have hot water available. A commercial boiler could possibly create enough volume to sustain multiple showers. That would be very challenging production for a tankless, except in the warmest areas of the country, like Florida. Incoming water temperature controls the temperature rise and flow that is possible. A series of 2 tankless, with the first acting as a preheater, might possibly work for a cold climate. But it also might not work, as they have minimum flow rates to trigger the burner. There is a lot of math to figuring out the possibilities here, and they start with your location and specific water conditions. 7 gallons down the drain is a whole other separate physical plumbing issue. That will require upsizing the drain, or multiple drains. I have not even gotten into the issue of the waste of the resources, which does violate code in many many places that have experienced water shortages. You may be surprised at how many locations in the US have experienced drought conditions and water shortages. It is only getting worse....See Moresuburbanmd
