I am making my 2nd & 3rd batch to take to a party tomorrow night. I think I will serve them in a holiday decorated very large brandy snifter and people will think they are an elegant snack! lol My neighbor who is hosting the party loved them!!!! I promised to make a batch for his little girl - I gave her a ziplock full of them to share with her girlfriend!!! They are very cool in that they are not messy like Cheetoes - Thank you again for something fun and different!

They are also called Coyote or Reindeer "Droppings" 2-cups brown sugar 1-cup butter or margarine 1/2 cup white corn syrup 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 14-1/2 ounce package Cheetos ** or buy ONE 11 oz size of CHEESE PUFFS, NOT cheetos I like the cheese puffs better Bring the sugar, butter or margarine and syrup to a boil for 5 minutes. Stir often Remove from fire. Add baking soda. Stir. Pour over cheetos, and toss QUICKLY . ***i USED TWO 9 X 10, ALUMINUM PANS Bake at 250 degrees F. for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Pour out on waxed paper rubbed with additional butter or cooking spray. Quickly separate the Caramelized Cheetos ****I used the bottoms of TWO broiler pans that I sprayed, put gloves on, and quickly separated, so you won't end up with big globs. Let cool, IF YOU CAN BEFORE SAMPLING!

I just couldn't bring myself to make these! I know if I did my blood sugar would be over the top.I love Cheetos,add caramel and I'd be dead meat!LOL Just wanted to add something about substituting margarine for the butter as mentioned on the other thread.Someone had used margarine instead of butter and they didn't turn out as well.In a recipe like this switching margarine in any amount will alter the results.Margarine contains water which will make a big difference.Ever melt margerine?About half of it will be water.Nix the margarine and go for the butter.In a recipe like this I really doubt substituting margarine for butter is going to make much of a difference healthwise!LOL

I know some days will be very trying for you, but here is some advice I was given ... Take it one day or one hour or one minute at a time. Keep breathing. If you can, journal about your struggle. We were at the cottage with friends and family. It was a very FULL week. We had a Birthday, Graduation, and a an Engagement to celebrate and of course the 4th! Our daughter made it in from Boston for a couple of days ... that was the best part! Been missing all of you these last couple of days ... seems so funny after a month of being here everyday. sharon
